Just pulled a black, and I mean black 40%er out of a tellers tray.

Stocking up is hard work... Got two dimes, one nickel and one half so far. Gonna get another dime, nickel and penny.

The silver gods smiled down on me today.

On my way to work this morning I decided to stop by a smaller bank that I always pass by. I went through the drive through and asked if the teller had any halves. He told me that someone dropped off a few rolls last night before close, so he sent them up.

5 customer wrapped rolls.....42 40% halves. By FAR the biggest silver score I've come across at a bank. I can't stop smiling.

One of the halves is in pretty decent shape, and has some interesting reverse toning so I tossed it in a 2x2 (I keep a stack at work for such occasions).

I found a 1999 WAM cent yesterday in a CWR. Posted pics of it in another post.

Ok well I started roll searching yesterday and asked for a box of halves, only to be told that the only teller with them was gone and I would have to come back tomorrow. Instead, I bought a box of dimes for the meantime. Im thinking "I better find something". First time roll searching and I crack my first roll o' dimes open and 10 dimes in I find my first silver coin, 1957 roosie! I tell myself that this is a good start. I proceed to crack the rest and find 2 more roosies a 64 and a 62. Think I did well for my first box of roll searching. Anyways, I did as the other teller told me and returned this morning for that box of halves. Once I get there she says she has halves and "how many do I want? " so I hit her in return with "how many do you have?" She says "more than you probably want (at this time im smiling because I know I have a very good outlet for halves)" so I tell her to give me a box and she says "one roll less than a box" so I say fine. I also had her retrieve another box of dimes for me and she then gave me her card and told me to call in advance of a week if I want more halves so she can order them for me, and it would cost 5.95 to order a box specifically for me (i believe some chocolates and gift cards will make that number disappear in the future!).

I went to the local bank today and got 2 rolls of halves: 2 67's and 2 68's. This is the absolute biggest amount of silver I have found in one place, and the first silver halves I have ever gotten. I was estatic.

I was hoarding them until yesterday when I tolk 450 of them to the bank and cashed out all I had except for 6 others because I wanted to keep the numbers easy - that money was immediatley turned into a few raw barbers

    2 boxes of halves today

    Box 1 - skunk
    Box 2 - 1949 franklin

On a side note - my dump bank for halves said screw the "new" policy for charging for dumping in bags of $1000. They said I can bring 10 bags at a time if I want - no charge.

Time to bring them another DD gift card

You could have made about 50 to 75 bucks on ebay selling them (after fees), or more. A lot of 100 Ikes will go for $130 or more....
