Today in one roll I found an AU 1940 wheat cent and a 1951 roosie. Now I find dimes all the time in cent rolls (I think: "Cool I just made 9 cent!). It's those shotgun shell type rolls, Because they go in the automatic rolling machines. And some times dimes slip through the penny slot. But I thought that the silver dime today was pretty nice to find especially 'cause I wasn't even looking in a dime roll.

Anybody else finding alot of euros these days in cent rolls?

Well I keep them but I'm not too big on world coinage, so I throw them all in a bag with the rest of my foreign coins.

    1999P- 1DR-003- new- Stage D and a 2006 1 DO-018MDS

    Hi Gang,

I have not posted anything new here in a while, but these are my latest 2 finds- both from circulated rolls from my local bank.

I found the 2006 "Double Ear lobe" 1DO-018 MDS first about a month ago, and then around Oct 01, I found the 1999 1DR-003 / 1 DER-015 WST- Wavy Steps Cent and sent pics to Mr Neff (traildies.com) and he determined its a new stage D Obv with the "Wart on Lincoln's Nose!" :D

    Keep looking!
Great coins are still out there in circulation begging to be found!

    Chuck.

*First set of pics is the 99.

    *The second set the 2006.

Nice, but you should make a new thread in the errors section so that more people will see this.

    1956
    1956-D X 2

    1970
    1974

    Errors
    1990 about 10% off centre.

While getting the cents, I asked if they had any pre-1970 Half Dollars, and got a 1967-D and 5 Ike Dollars.

    Not a bad day.

My memory is fading. Did I ever show you folks the paper bank roll of 1888-O Morgans that I bought earlier this year? It contained a new VAM discovery that I mentioned in this thread, and it contained two Top 100 VAM 9's. The seller has DOZENS of other unopened paper rolls. Tried to buy more, but his son stepped in and got involved with opening everything and overgrading.

It was actually a very depressing experience. When I met with the seller and saw the paper wrapped rolls, I needed a drool cup. They were all from the same bank in Brooklyn NY. After buying the first roll, I asked for more. He was nice enough to select many rolls for me that were all different dates/mints. I saw them. They were within my physical reach. He needed to price them. When I returned, his son had gotten involved. The coins were gone. Don't know the "real" story, but I suspect his son wanted to inherit them. The seller also showed me four sealed canvas bags of Morgan dollars. Don't know if they were from a bank or from the US Treasury, but he claimed to have 15 of them. They also were not going to be sold.

Yes, I remember the thread. As long as the son wasn't snotty to you, you can't blame him for stopping his dad from selling the rest of the coins. At least you got some of them beauties. zg

Teller: "Some of these look pretty old, do you want those, too?"

Me: "Yeah, what the heck, I'll take them all."

Six out of the ten were 40% silvers. Just a new Chase Manhattan Bank near a half-developed strip center (still under construction, no retail open, yet). With this luck, I might try this again, sometime. ;)

Got a truly stunning 1987-D out of a roll of Kennedy halves yesterday. It looked like someone had taken it out of the mint set just the day before. Made for a nice upgrade in the Dansco album.

.....and two more last night, one pretty worn, but the other in nice shape (AU-50). Three '87-Ds in a week. I only found one in the first three years I searched halves.
