Huh? Did you ask him what they plan to do with the $200 in halves? Non-coin collecting customers aren't going to ask for them. Actually your reply should've been "OK, I'd like to close my account now."

I agree with Moonshine, time to find a bank that appreciates your business.

Not for nothing, but pulling numbers like that out of $200 in halves I would taken whatever else they would have given me, sweet talk them into giving you another $100....THEN I would be making a stink! What is wrong with these banks??? Ask them to pull the policy about selling coin to CUSTOMERS, I'm sure it say's right in there they will provide you with coin and there would be no limit involved. If my local bank pulled that kind of crap on me I would be calling corporate from the bank managers desk and handing them over the phone when they say I can buy the coins. Now I'm all fired up...ha ha ha I love it

Today was a rare day that I had some cash and could stop at the bank to inquire about halves, Ikes, and any other "oddities" they may have gotten in. There was a new teller that I didn't know and she gave me a puzzled look then reached under the counter and says "like these?" as she lays five half dollar rolls and a roll of dollars in front of me. I said yep and couldn't wait to get home :D ...The first few rolls started out as usual-starting with 71 going through the early 80s. But the last roll-yippee, the BEST JFK cherrypicking day ever (for me)! :b8nce: :b8nce: Apparently someone turned in someone's collection-ALL UNCIRCULATED-starting with a 1971S!!!! :D ;) Shown in the pic are my favorites- the 71S, 71D, Bicentennial, 99D, one 2005P, and five 2005D's! I also got a roll of AU mixed presidents including an interesting Buchanan P edge error I will post later, Washington, Polk, Adams, Harrison, Johnson, and some rough Sacagawea dollars.

That's absolutely ridiculous. What else are they going to do with rolls and rolls of halves? It's not like the general public wants them.

Picked up another rolls of halves on my way out of the local casino tonight (I really should gamble less, but I love playing Blackjack). Nada. But I know a bunch of local vendors that are going to be payed in halves soon. Muahahahaha! >_> <_< >_>

Not really roll searching, but went to a few antique stores and pawn shops a week or two ago, found a 1966 half for $3, and a 1964 half for $10.

One of the stores has a raw 18xx (Can't remember the date, silly me) liberty head quarter eagle that he wants to sell for 200. I don't know much about them, so figured I'd ask, what are some things I should look for on the quarter eagle to make sure it's real?

I just finished a short vacation to Rockport/Gloucester MA. Banks up there were very curtious. Purchased $95 in halves.
Skunked. Halves are in short supply there too.

Your canadian is indeed silver, 80% to be exact.

Box of halves was pretty good, a '63, '64, and 7 40%ers. Box two tomorrow.

Two stops had halves today. Stop one had $15.50 in loose that netted one 40%. Stop two had 3 halves and one was an 87d.

Somebody brought in rolls of coins today and told me they had been saving them for many years. I cracked them open and found 5 pre 64 quarters and 2 1964 dimes. I think this week so far I have netted around 7 dollars face value in silver coins at work.
