Man, most of you guys have been killing it lately. So I got $90 in halves on my lunch break, which was a skunk. However, I did get two full rolls of silver-plated (or some metal silver colored) halves, and 1 full roll of gold-plated (again, or some gold colored plating) halves. I have a few other random plated halves sitting around, I think I may try to put that crap on ebay. Find somebody that might want em. We'll see.
I'm kind of curious as to where they came from. Maybe somebody was trying to make a treasure chest for their kid or something like that. I bet a 5 year old would look at these coins and think they had something real neat. And when I dumped the first roll and saw those blast white edges, I almost crapped my pants. Then I got sad real quick after looking at the coins.

Lots of good, fairly uncommon roll-searching finds there. Nice.

Okay following up, that box yielded 1 90%er and 10 40%ers, this was one of my better boxes.

It's been a pretty good day. Got my car fixed up, didn't cost a lot, got to my dump bank just in time before they closed and dumped today's clad, then on the way out of the Grocery store checked the Coinstar and found a 1942 S Wheatie I needed for my folder, got home and found my new 2012 Red Book had arrived, and finally tried one of the Peaches I got from the market a few days ago and it was delicous. Haven't had a good peach in awhile, too many times I buy them and they end up being crap. So been a pretty good day for me. I do have a lottery ticket for tonight's Powerball....okay now that's asking a little to much from the man up stairs.....haha.

Oh and I have my first 2 boxes of Dimes coming tomorrow too. Maybe some Rosies or Mercs will shake out of there.

    HH all

Searched $120 in dimes, $20 in nickels, and I also picked up 24 ike's. There was nothing for dimes, no silver ike's, but I did find 22 Pre 64 nickels(no war & all Jefferson) are these worth keeping? How about the ike's?

$40 in Dimes yesterday = 2 Silver dimes! Never pulled any from a roll until yesterday, so I was happy :)

    $60 in nickels = 1 1943P war nickel.

    Today's box: 3 roosies slv, 1 5 pence, and a micro SD card (1MB).

Yes, a micro SD card in a roll of dimes. It's probably empty (and may not even work), but I'm curious to see what is on there.

Went into town to drop off $130 in skunk quarters and asked for some dimes...I guess I'm now a regular there becuase this gorgeous teller said all they have are "those brand new dimes, and you don't want those do you?". I said your right, that's fine I'll just take the cash, she looked in her drawer and pull out two CWR of dimes, so that was cool, even though they ended up being skunk. I then ask if she has any half dollars, one teller had two, the other had one, and then she's like "oh, I have $90 in my vault do you want those?". I said if it's not too much trouble I'll take them all. They of course ask what I want with all of them and I told them my daughter and I fill up books with all the dates, then they pointed out the fact that my daughter is 13 months old (I'm in there with her and she is unforgetable cute)...so I come up with the old "her great grandfather gave her the books and we are trying to finish them before he gets any older kind of thing"....Half truth, he gave us both the book and helped us out with some coins to get us started.

I ended up with good results....
In the 3rd to last roll as I'm thinking these are someone's dumps a clad looking 40% pops out (sweet!!!!), then in the last roll I see two silvers next to each other a 1964 and a 1966 BU. Killer!!!!

My only other scores on halves have been huge scores....this is new to me just getting 3 out of $90 worth and I couldn't be happier.

Tried out the new coin counting machine today

Results were pretty good, it's a little slow, not like Penny fast, but it does not take halves and it steals them. I dumped $90 something in dimes and the clad from my earlier score $88.50. Well it counted all the dimes and did not count any of the halves and put them in the quarter bag, and never rejected one. I go up to the counter and the head teller comes to help. There they are sitting in the Q's bag, so we pull them all out and I put them back in my canvas bag. I'm then expecting to just take them to TD or something and she starts breaking them up into $10 piles and starts rolling them up for me...SWEET. What a great teller! She cashed them all in and gives me a wad of cash and I'm on my way. They will be sure to get some goodies in the near future.
