Well that's the thing when I got my big score last week it was from him, so I was kinda hoping he wouldnt know what silver coins were. He's also the guy I just recently got a silver quarter from.

I just take it. Talked to a couple managers, they don't have a problem with it... after all, they can't prove you didn't pour it into the machine, ya know?

I just realized that the box of halves I have arriving tomorrow, I don't know which bank it's arriving at. Haha. Oops.

My bad - good day yesterday

So I'm all jealous of Erin, Merc & Moonshine:sniper:, so I did a box of dimes

    Skunk

Then I go to the bank with the counting machine to dump them. The machine is broken :mad:

I complain, there is nothing they can do. However, I notice the teller has some white dimes. 5 silver dimes later, I'm not so mad :smile

White dimes - as opposed to CN or copper ones, which look more gray.

I am very new to roll searching through banks, but I work at a grocery store and have got a pretty good collection started from searching the rolls in the register's when ever I worked. Anyways in the past two days I've searched $450 in dimes and found 4 silver, I was pretty happy with that.

~$12 in silver...$0.40. Searching while you are working...priceless!

$500 in dimes found 3 silver ones
    $24 in nickels found a 1974-S proof
Box of halves skunked about 60% of them were all marked with a purple X - LAME

3 more boxes of halves picking up tomorrow hope to end the sliverless streak on half boxes

The only redeeming factor of my search today = a 1976 S proof Ike, too bad it isn't silver.

$120 in halves, and $40 in dimes and nothing to show for it. Couldn't pick up pennies.

Searching while at work is the best, thats where I've found the majority of my coins as well. People are always disappointed when they look through the give a penny take a penny for wheaties and I tell them I already confiscated them all.

Well I didn't find the 4 dimes while I was working(I don't cashier anymore) but I have probably found $150-200 in silver while was a cashier plus a ton of proofs and error coins. And yeah it's the best haha

    Road trip over.

Started well, second bank I walked into had a 40%er loose. Later on, I picked up $600 machine rolls... 1 40%er. Then got another box from the same bank, skunk. Cashed in, headed south. Stopped at a bank in a grocery story, they had nothing. Teller was telling me about a safe full of coins he inherited from his grandfather, I left him my contact information so he contact me if he wants an appraisal done (Side job). Went to the Grocery store customer service, asked for halves, cha ching. $2 in 40% silver. Got back on the road, headed further south... nothing, nothing, nothing for a while. Got a box of dimes somewhere along the way, all 2011's... took it into a WF, cashed it in for $250 cash... in fives. Ugh, tellers screwing with me. Crossed the street, asked for halves... Teller says, "Sure, someone just dropped some off this AM." Clink Clink Clink... total? $3.50 in 40%, 2 1964's, and a 19X8 Walker that is really worn down. Continued south, didn't find anything. Got $280 in dimes, which yielded 5 silvers. Turned around, came home. Not a bad day.

Well I finally got more than 1 Silver out of a box of halves. Actually, I was quite pumped about my finds today:

    July 26 2011.jpg

Sorry the picture is weak, but it was my phone:

    1 x 1952 Ben (MY FIRST - Giddy Up)
    1 x 1969 Kennedy
1 x 1987 Kennedy P (and this thing is almost flawless)

I also got a few more NIFC's (2005 and 2010). However, I went through what I saved and streamlined it to one set from 2001-2010 and am throwing the rest back.

Also - tomorrow night I may have a buyer for my Ikes. I'll announce the deal when it's done. I don't want to jinx myself.

So for me, it was a good day!

If your Ike buyer wants more, I will sell you 350 of what i have for halfway between what he's offering per and face, ie if he's offering 1.50, ill sell you my hoard for 1.25 each.

I just did the same thing; taking pictures of some other H's I hung on to to see if anyone is interested in some trades...

Been feeling kinda cruddy lately, so everything is moving slowly. :dismay:
