I went to cash in my coins and it counted $10.50 short of what it was suppose to be. This ever happen to anyone else? I told the teller and they said they will check the coin machine, but I'm not holding my breath

    Did $88 in nickels - one 1943 P war nickel, and $400 in Q's - skunk.

Hint: If you dump enough coins (ie. halves) to fill a bag, they will have to come open the machine to replace the bag and you won't lose any change that is stuck in the machine or the reject slot because you'll be able to see it. You MAY however lose money if the machine counts your dimes as pennies.

One time I told them I was $5 short, they checked the machine and came up with nothing, they pretty much told me sorry. It was my fault anyway, I found the missing $5 roll of dimes on the floor of my car...ooops.

Been a long week for me coin roll hunting wise. Got my first box of the week today, so far a skunk. These S&S boxes don't ever seem very productive for me. I think I will just stick with the Brinks and/or Garda boxes.

Very surprised when I found the roll sliding around on the floor of the car. Felt kind of embarassed....the teller was super nice anyway for tearing apart the machine trying to help me out.

Heh, no, I was in a different neck of the woods. I've had that problem a few times, but not usually with halves. Tellers seem more than happy to get rid of halves usually, then they don't have to keep counting them every morning and evening. It also doesn't hurt to be as charming as I am :).

8 more rolls of halves-one more 40%. That totaled out ten rolls-2-40%. This was the first time we got them and my husband had a blast-he was like a little kid! Nice to see something more we can do together and not losing money :D

Well, it's not roll searching, but I was going thru some loose change I collected over the past two days and found a 1957 Roosevelt dime. I'm pretty excited ... it's my very first "find".

Good catch! :D I have tons of dimes-and the earliest are (of course!) 65, 66, and 67 and none of them are transitional silver (again, of course!) lol

no silver but 18 assorted s minted halves

painted ones or the s mint coins worth much over face.. obviously these are circulated since i got them out of the roll.. but 4 or five s mints look awesome..

Wow, that is a huuuge score of proofs. I'd personally hang on to them, get a Dansco Kennedy album (w/ proofs) if you don't have one and start filling it in. But, you'd probably be able to get something over face for them.
And those painted halves are PMD, and most coin collectors wouldn't pay much over face (or anything over face) for them, but I guarantee some goof on ebay would pay extra for those.

Hummm, I'm thinking I might start asking for 2 boxes of dimes every week from one of my banks that I get halves from. I almost always get skunk boxes from them. I would kind of like to start getting a little more variety. Would be really awesome if they could do 5 boxes of Nickels for me....that would be a lot sorting, but I love finding Buffs!
