Wow scottishmoney, good work. Copperminig as well. Have a mint bag so full that the top just folds over and touches the other top. Very heavy. I only did half of what U did this time, but there was a 2001-P 10c in a string and son roll just like you. My wheat count was way lower though. I also just set aside the 84-89's for now and have to check all for rotations still.

1 roll of the nappyness, they are so nasty and mangled.(I now have 5 or 6 rolls like this rerolled in string and son wrappers hehehe) I'll be depositing a whole box to the bank that wouldn't let me get boxes complete with cathair.:thumb:

I have two mint bags filled to the top of pre-1982 bronzes. The dates on those range from 1959-1982. I save the wheats, S-mints, pre-64 Canadians, 1967 Centennial Canadians and all other foreign stuff.

In the past year I have probably done about 20-25 boxes all total. The earliest cent was a 1910 last year sometime, I have found 3-4 2 Euro cents from France, one from Germany, 6-7 dimes, a 1981-S proof that was broken out of a set and spent, a Bermuda cent etc. So far, I have found no Indians. I have several hundred Wheats, two George V cents from Canada, dozens of George VI, and a couple of hundred or so pre-1964 QEII's. Sometime I will have to put all the finds together and tally them.

Isaw a guy buy a box and a half of half dollars at my credit union recently. I think there were $500.00 dollars worth in the box but he had no trouble carrying it/them. wow! zekeguzz

zekeguzz-Yes, $500 to a box. Not too heavy, just be prepared. I did that once on the fly without a box. Make sure you have a strong shirt cause a tshirt can/will rip and you will be picking up halves all over the parking lot.

scottishmoney - WoW. My earliest was a 1910 as well this year and no indians either. Most dimes in a box of S&S is 3 and all were on the ends. Mostly do Citizens for s&s rolls and Chase for customer rolls. How about you?

Glad to see more posting here again.

Let me just say I have a system going, and people in each branch that I take care of with little goodies like gift cards etc. and they save stuff for me, call around to other branches etc. I think some of the tellers must think I am cute or something, cause they are just a bit more than friendly. Whatever helps I guess. Unlike a few roll searchers that have come across snarly people in banks, in the rare instance when I have occasioned to come across the snarly one, they were quickly put back in their place by their brethren. Lately I have been scarfing up Ike Dollars like there is no tomorrow, many older FRN's, older ie 1953 $2's etc.

I usually don't have to say a word when I walk in the bank, they just start milling and horse trading the goodies for me.

Really nice condition! What would you rate it as. It almost looks UNC. Great pictures. What did you use and how did you stop it from glaring? I really need to find out so I can contribute and show some cents too. zg
Hey, I must be blind but where's the P?

jeankay, nice find. Good pictures also. zekeguzz- the P mint mark was not used untill 1980 on the jeffersons with the exception of the wartime silver alloy nickels from 1942 untill 1945. Hope this helps.

Thanks BizzyBill, you are right, no mint mark for Philadelphia before the war nickels.
    I appreciate the kudos BB.

    Hey Zeke,
Even though I tend to under grade I think it looks AU on the obverse... the picture isn't quite as good as the coin looks in hand as there is much more detail in the hair and the face is more dimensional. The reverse is nearly as good and I can see the triangle at the top of the portico above the entry. There are no full steps to be seen on Monticello. It could go AU also.
My natural full spectrum Ott-Lite has many arm adjustments which can move the light at different angles which I use when looking at the digital camera window to direct the light in a manner which does not cause glare. I never use flash when photographing coins. My camera is a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS Digital Elph, with 4x optical zoom macro mode, 8.0 megapixels, optical image stabilizer, and will adjust the 'film speed' according to how much shaking my hand is doing. This camera is much smarter than I am. Not every photograph comes out the way I wish it would.
This Jefferson looks nearly as good as the 38 P uncirculated which I have in my album.
I am glad you like it.

See, shows you how much I don't know, duh(mint mark). Your SD850 is a very nice camera and you justify it well judging from your photos. Ihave to borrow my son's SX100 and see it will work for coins. ??? So thank you for your helpful info. zg

Zeke, we all had to start some place and you picked one of the best right here. As for mint marks and other info on U S coins, keep a copy of the current "RED BOOK" close by. It comes in handy when Roll searching as many of us do. Good hunting and ask any questions.

    lost coin

I'm sure this has all happened to us. Wen I was a about 12yrs. old Ifound that my mom had a 1918 lincoln head half dollar, Illinois Centennial. Remembering it when Iwas 22yrs ols(1960) saw it again and it was in very nice condition because it was just being saved in a security box. Don't know what happened to it after mom died and I asked about it and my sister didn't know. Oh well. Thought that might be interesting. ZG.

Nice sight, thanks. As I remember the coin I mentioned had some patina on it. I guess in those days coins weren't protected as much as they are now. At least the not so valuable ones. I was into stamps in 1950. ZG
