I went through a box of dimes: 1953 D (2), 1959 (1), 1943 Merc (1). I went to take it back today and the teller was really excited because someone just brought in a bunch of cents. I bought the bag (and had to ride it home on my bike... bad idea!!!) and found 21 wheats and 67 Candadian ones!

I don't have a car and ride my bike everywhere. The most I've carried is 3 boxes of pennies ($75) or 2 boxes of nickels ($200) which may have actually weighed more. I'm going to try and never end up doing that again!

I got what I think is a counterfeit twoonie. (Actually more than one of them.) I'll get pics this weekend. I've got to persuade the wife to let me borrow her camera.

  9. Does anyone else try to complete sets of Canadian coins with all of the ones they find from roll searching and so forth? I'm fairly close at finishing a 1922 to present album of Canadian pennies that I bought from the Royal Canadian mint. Quarters I have about half and dimes and quarters... way off. I only have one Loonie.

cycled $100 of halves 4 times then $190 the 5th time with a begining intrest of only the silver.
    Found:
    1-S mintmark
    35-40% silvers
    1-90% silver (1958 I think)
Also found out what banks have tellers that know about the 40%ERS and how many times I can go back before they get mad! Had the best luck at the bank that only had $30 worth, young girls. 1 roll only had 3 that were not 40% silver!

1924 wheat in $10 worth of cents
some possible error cents.(89 date doubling, 99 really wide letters and rim that is not sharp at all and flows irregularly into the field, maybe a worn die?)

$1 bill almost went into the carwash 2003 S/N E 78989898 D (Fold in middle, but not bad or weak there. Almost touched the bill slot with it.)

Oh yeah, now I have a collection of halves from 71-01 missing 76,78 and 87(P&D), 79D,82D,84P,91D,93P,99D,00P and 01P. Many double letters and dates, eagle poo die cud?, etc. Also found a double nostril but somehow ended up in a roll I took back. All because I was looking 4 silver. I don't even know how much the 40% halves are worth!

dunt duhnt du daaa FOUND THE EXTRA NOSTRIL KENNEDY YAY! YAY! 1974D camera is only 3.2 MP so no pics yet.

  14. Most of the ones I need are those. I don't have the book on me at the second (about to go to bed!), but I know I have the 1922 even. I got it in change.

What should I expect to pay for a common date Walking Liberty and Mercury dime BU rolls? Thanks.

According to June coinage 700 to 800 for Walker halves, about 500 give or take for the dimes. I think this post should not have been in roll searchers though. Try collecting 101 to get better answers

Thanks for the info. I searched our CoinTalk site and could not find "collecting 101" link. Can you please provide it.

    searched
$100 worth of halves. Results - already been searched although I did find 1 with almost all of the gold plating gone! Traded in $11 dol worth for a sip of gas and went to another bank to redeem the rest. Getting another $100 wednesday from a different bank.

    $25 box of lincoln cents
    got...
9 wheats with half of box 82 and down
4 rolls of the nasties (corroded, green funk and chewed up cents)
stern lecture on calling ahead to get a box. Maybe I give the nasties to this bank! Probably get it back from them L8R:(

Seriously thinking of condensing all my bank accts. to the one who has no probs with my searching.

The other day I went to the bank with a deposit (I'm a manager of a motel) and decided to pick up $10 worth of nickels to go thru to fill in some of the holes in my collection. Opened the first roll and just about had a stroke - it was all 1940's and 1950's - EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! Then I opened up the other rolls (they all had the same name written on them) and three of them were just like #1! The fifth roll had some '69 and '70 S ones in it, but again nothing but 1940's and 1950's. Here is a list of what I got:
    1940, 1940d, 1941, 1941d, 1941s, 1946, 1946d, 1947, 1949, 1949d, 1951, 1951d, 1953, 1953s, 1955d, 1956, 1956d, 1957, 1957d, 1958d, 1959d, 1969s and 1970s

All are circulated grades - no BU's or anything like that. Lots of dupes in the rolls - I think I have about a full roll of 1946 ones.

So, the next day I went back to the bank to see if they had any more of those rolls, but alas they were all gone......
