I used to keep 'em, but decided to dump all my dupes and just hold onto my nicest examples from each date/mm. 50 minutes to do a box is a while, dude, pick your game up. :p I knock out boxes of halves in about 20 minutes... once you get the technique down, it's cake because they're so easy to search given their size.

My teller friend dropped by last night and gave me $90 in halves, of which about $20 were 40%'ers. No 90%'ers. Also gave me 18 common ikes, and $1.30 in wheats. Asked her how much she wanted, she shrugged and said 2x face for the silver, and 2x face for the wheats. I couldn't do that so I gave her 4x on the silver... the wheats were all common dates, so 2x was fine on those.

Merc - I'm sure I'll get faster...starting to get better at spotting the silver by eye now. Also, I'm still enjoying looking at them and taking my time. Newbie excitement I guess! I found $5 in few loose halves this morning at some local banks and added another 40% to the take. So, that's 6 40% and 1 90% for the weekend. Not too bad of a start. Yep - I'm hooked.

Yesterday, I searched through my first box of nickels in weeks and found two War Nickels ('43-P and '45-P), three Canadian nickels, an English penny, and a 10 Halala coin from Saudi Arabia (I had to Google search different countries that I thought issued the coin before I came to Saudi Arabia).

The last few boxes of H's I went through had loads of the 2001 H's - mostly D's, but some P's and S's in there. Nice and shiny. Seen some '02's as well...

Are these of interest to anyone?

So you had some proofs in there? I hope you kept them.

I downloaded the free version of "My Screen Cam". I also downloaded free "Photoscape". The light of my cheapie scope makes the pics look washy. But they can be colorized and made to look like the object with some editing in the Photoscape software.

I guess there are better ones out there, but the price was right for these.

I don't know squat about numismatics. :goof:

I still have a half box of H's I did this morning, and saw a bunch in there. I did pull some of the 2001's to show anyone who is interested.

I'm looking for PM's, but I don't have a problem keeping a lookout for stuff people might be interested in. I just have no idea what people are looking for; so, if anyone's looking for something specific, let me know and we can work something out. :smile

Well S mintmark halves are proofs, so I'd keep those. Even circulated, you could sell them for over face. And any of those NIFCs (87 or 2002-current) will sell over face, even if circulated. Of course, to sell circulated NIFCs, you may need to get a few, maybe a roll's worth. The mintages for all NIFCs are less than 4 million each, some fewer than 2 million. They will probably always command at least a small premium I imagine.

Opened a box of cents today 22 unopened bank rolls 2011 D. 12 rolls with shield on each end and 1 new roll 2010 D. Now I have 12 that have to be opened I guess, just to see what they are.

So I hit up western Allentown (about 1K worth), mostly other people's dumps, but I did find a full roll of 40%, and a nice set of 2010 P&D that I needed.

    Box of dimes: Skunk
400/500 box of halves (new): skunk
    Box of nickels: 2x '44 and a '43

Best score for nickels I've seen. Usually I only get 1 per box :).

The other $60 netted a 1951 and 1964 Roosie. I was pretty stoked
