Thanks Merc. I really LOVE that Italian coin, and it has a lot more silver than a 40% Kennedy as well. :)

I've found 1987 halves before, but not BU like these....I'll probably sell a few on the Bay....

Merc, sorry for the typo. I said dumb but meant dump. I hope I did not come across rude buddy. Also, none of the banks around here seem to have a coin cashing machine. All I can find are the coinstars in grocery stores. No luck with silver so far.

From a bank I frequent, the tellers saved me my first Liberty Head nickel from circulation. It's a pretty worn 1908, but finding a Liberty Head in circulation is amazing.

Also, from a CoinStar machine, I noticed a 1936 Lincoln and a '72 Canadian 1 cent on the machine counter top.

    Ain't no thang. :p

    I complained about variety... today I got a box of halves that had 5 40%ers, a '78 proof, and one of these;

This hobby has been treating me great lately.

    Strange Box of Pennies

Just opened a box of BWR P's. Looks like 37 of the rolls are all 2011-D's, all bright and shiny; I opened one just to see what was in there, but I'm pretty sure they are all that way. One of the BWR's was actually short, and by weight it contains 48 P's (never had that happen with a BWR).

Another odd thing about the box was the remaining 13 rolls yielded 31% copper; this is 50% more than the consistent ~20% copper I get from boxes.

Are these 2011-D BWR P's worth more than face if still in the rolls?

Searched $60 in dimes and $20 in Quarters this weekend and came up skunk. Had the $20 in Quarters on me and a $20 bill and got 8 rolls of dimes. 7th roll I opened and got a 1961, no mint mark so it's a Philly? This is after the lady who sold me the dimes told me I should "buy them from Ebay". I told her what's the fun in that??? It totally made my day and I can add it to my collection.
    49 - 40%
    5 - Dimes
    1 - War Nickle

Went to BoA to get halves and they told me they have to start charging me 28 cents a roll. So I asked for 10 rolls of nickels and pennies and she said she'd have to charge me for those too. Huh? What? So if I walk in there and ask them to give me two $10s for a $20 are they going to charge me a fee for that too???

And they wonder why they have busloads of people standing on the CEO's lawn with protest signs and bullhorns.

A teller from BOA said they could not get halves for me after I bought the one they had, Bi Centenial
I then walked to the manager and she said yes, but they come in a Box of $1000 dollars and I need to buy them all
I thought they only came in Boxes of $500 and bags of $1000
They get theirs from an armored car service, not from the Fed
I see Dunbar alot and Strings and Son is used for all the others Dimes, Nickles, Quarters
What banks get their coins from the Fed?

Banks are really getting chintzy anymore. I heard one story on the local news that a bank was considering charging a fee just to talk to a teller. I'd be looking for a new bank! :(

That is total garbage, I hate BOA, they always try and kill me with fees! Good thing I had a buddy who worked there and he took care of me

My dad's bank charges if you go to a teller more than once a day.

I just finished a sweet box of pennies. In all I found 142 wheaties! 3 proofs, 1965 SMS 1982-S and 2006-S several nice BU 1960's/1970's and a couple of the wheats were red as well. I sure enjoyed looking through that box :smile

What gets me is that I've only ordered one box of halves from them. I just started going to this branch. It's not like I've been harassing them for months or something.
