Great story, if you had a roll searching reality show, I would watch it.

Went through $60 of CWR cents. 10 wheats total, none of them good. 7 canadians, 1 euro 2 cent. Very boring.

I had to go down to Florida for a family event, and planned to stop at a few banks and pick up some halves. I had about 2 hours before 12:00 on Saturday and planned to stop by 5-10 banks near my hotel. Unfortunately all banks down where I was are closed on Saturdays??? So that was disappointing. I think I'm going to start ordering boxes of halves again, I figure I'll get 2 boxes each from 2 branches of BOA. Hopefully I'll have more luck than what I ended on, 6 straight skunk boxes. I also sold my copper penny buildup recently, both were bought Buy-it-now almost right when they were put on at $209 shipped for $100 FV and $59.40 shipped for $25 FV. So with the whole no fees upfront thing might as well list it for more next time. I'm guessing you guys are shipping Priority Mail flat rate, thats what I did, 2 $25 boxes per medium flat rate. Thats only 34 pounds and it felt like it was going to bust the box, and supposedly you are allowed to put 70 pounds??? I would love to see the mailman deliver a 70 pound flat rate box. lol.

I shipped my $100 face value copper in $15 flat-rate boxes. Just taped the crap out of them, three pieces of tape on each seam and side, including the top.

Used a full large roll of packing tape on 3 boxes.

Box of dimes yielded 4 silvers, including a '38... nice.

Box of cents looks like mostly 2011's, ugh.

Teller at the bank downstair from me (whom I've asked to hold onto stuff) tells me she has something for me as I walk in to make a deposit. Two halves.

    1 '69.

    Can't complain :)

I'm surprised the manager did that. I guess he will hide them better in his drawer next time. I went to one of my banks to pick up some halves and asked if they had anything else old. The teller had some $2's that I took, but showed me what she was keeping for herself. Someone had deposited $50 in the ATM, and it was a $20 and 3 $10's from the 1920's with Fed Reserve name stamped on the left, all in great shape. I asked if they were for sale and she said no. I guess I could have asked the manager, but I respect her collecting just like I do. In fact, I tell my wife that I want to get a part-time job as a teller so that I can look through more coins. The hourly pay would be bonus.

Now I'm wondering about some of the tellers I've dealt with :pacing:

Everyone should second guess the tellers.

    You know the one's.......

Your teller asks the one next to her...

she looks up at you for a second...annoyed and uncaring......shrugs.....

NO, I don't have any........Without ever even looking at her drawer or change.

Thats what most of mine do:(. I only have one or two tellers that are actually helpful.

    I stressed to the manager that it was cool if he collects and doesn't wanna let them go, I understand, I run into that all the time... but he flat-out lied to me, and that is what I was upset about, especially from a bank that has this as their slogan;

"There was one very powerful business rule. It is concentrated in the word courtesy."

I live on the east coast and almost every post 2008 nickel I find is a Denver Minted one. As a matter of fact I have yet to find a P minted 2010 and 2011 and have found only 1 P minted 2009.

I'm looking for an '09 for another poster here... just absolutely no luck finding 'em. Finding plenty of '10's. No '11's yet.

I have 3 '11 nickels, all pretty nice. They were sent in a mailer for some group wanting you to contribute money but I don't recall who.
