Found 8 halves......skunk.

So, Why not switch to dimes as suggested by Merc. I got a box of dimes on the way home.....skunk.

lol. My most recent string of luck is laughable.

 

Where do you buy your boxes at? The bank?

 

Yep. I've been buying boxes from one bank and got skunked every time. I went to BofA and got 10 rolls yesterday with 1 40%er, then 20 rolls today with fantabulous results. This BofA will now be my bank of choice. Fortunately, they haven't asked me yet if I have an account. My husband does, but I'm not on it. Does that still count? I guess we'll see.

 

2nd week in a row with some silver for me! If you remember I posted about getting that $1 silver certificate, and they had $20 in halves, rolled with a different looking wrapper (CWR). I picked the halves up today, I was happy and suprised that they were still there AND that they even set them aside for me!

The first roll was NOTHING but Bicentenials...=( I thought I was doomed for sure. I checked the second roll, one end had a 1995 and the other had a 1988. At least this one was mixed. So, I open one end, poor them out and BOOM! 1967! 40%er #2 in 2 weeks, or $25 searched, 2 40%ers found. However, I have searched FAR MORE than $25 all together, and these are still the only 2 that I have found.

I have an 1895 (can't remember the date) that I got 2 years ago from pocket change.. It is amazing and if I can think to get it out tonight I'll post some pics.. VERY NICE and I love it!

 

Weekly $2k in halves was a.. get ready..

Stopped at the drive through to pick up a box of dimes and also asked for any halves. She holds up 3 silver halves which turned out to be 3 40%ers:thumb:. Box of dimes gave me 1 63.

 

I bet you're happy after the 12 skunks!! Congrats man!

 

stopped in one of my regular banks to show them my newp and they had 2 40%ers for me

 

Maybe try some Nickels, might land a few War Nickels and/or Buffs. Most War Nickels I got in one box was 4.

 

Are CWR's better than pre-wrapped rolls for finding silver?

 

Lol depends... Are you catching soneone's dump or not?? If searching halves I take loose first, boxes second, and cwr (of over 5 rolls) last. I've bought too many searched cwr only to have to dump them. Just my opinion. However dimes and cents can be promising. I don't mess w quarters

 

I'm a newbie at this still, but I agree already. I went into Wells Fargo today, got 12 rolls of CWR Halves. I was through the 5th or 6th roll when I started to notice that all coins were facing the same direction, and we sorted chronologically. I think the same picked over rolls may have been circulating in the area for a while.

I went into another WF branch and they just showed me their loose halves, which was great. I also asked if they had anything interesting come through and she said a customer brought in two $500 bills to deposit. When I asked if I could buy those, she said the manager packed them up and shipped them back to the Fed that same day. Ughhhh....

 

Still away from home. I have not opened a roll in over a week. No, it is not an intervention, but even if it were, it is not working. I am climbing the walls here !

'64-D quarter just found while playing pool at the bar. Made my night almost as much as the Flyers destroying the Sabres in game 7.

 

Picked up 3 ikes while dumping rolls today... one was a 76s silver My first silver ike find.

 

Found it this morning and quickly looked at it. 1902
