I'm sorry that I'm jaded and don't have rainbows shooting out of my butt.

Give it a few years and you may very well end up in the same boat.

Found another silver dime today, a 1959. But dang if I didn't get yet another skunk box of halves.

colligoergosum I collect, therefore I am

Went to a bunch of banks today, got 10 rolls of halves and about 100 loose ones. In the loose change I found 2 '64s and 1 '68, and in the rolls I found 2 Franklins, a '54 and a '58! My first Franklin finds :D

Nice find on the Frankies. Good to know they are still out there.

$95 in dimes, in clear wrapping. Instead of breaking them all out (like I do in the paper wrapped ones) I just started analyzing the edges in the sunlight. I got my first '61 Roosie!! YAY!!...I confess: This is my first ROLL find. All my other finds on this forum were from loose :). First victory is the best one!!

    Ughhh,

On one of my worse skunk streaks ever.

I'm on a streak of six skunk dime boxes and nine skunk boxes of halves.

Well I had a blast running around today.

Box of halves - one 40% 2 upgrades in Dansco (really nice box, just all in the 80s.)

I ended up with $1510 in dimes today. I searched the rims of two boxes and had a merc and 2 silver rosies..

THEN I got the bright Idea that I haven't updated my dime collection in about 20+ years..

    ENTER HADIES!!

So I am patiently sorting dimes upon dimes (God help me...) To get a darn good Roosevelt colletion going..

Thank goodness for beer.. I'll quit when the dates get blurry.. LOL I can't stand it otherwise!!

Anyone else been away from the game and decided to search silver only to bring out the coin collector inside you as a kid??

Not only have I ignored my dimes, but all coinage for a long time.. I like the aspect to say 'I've collected this' rather than 'Yea, I bought this thing with every hole filled'. Plus it is a good hobby, not as profitable, but a good use of time..

    Just wondering..

(As I look over to the 50 bucks in cents that is next on the list.. I'll eventually amke it to nickels in 2012 at this rate. However, I'm quite proud of the halves I've acquired.. Quarters? Well I may just buy a completed set of those! All the states and such is crazy!)

I completely forgot to mention this. Not roll-searching but kinda related. The bank manager asked my husband and I what we collect and we told them about the coins and star notes we collect. She asked what that was and we explained it to her. That was last week. We went in today to get a box of dimes and she comes over to me and says "I found some star notes and saved them for you." She had them in the timed vault so I had to wait 12 minutes, but she came out with 3 crispy $20 star notes. Completely unsolicited. She just took it upon herself to save them for us. How's that for service!
