$25 of CWR cents. 7 wheats all from the 40's and 50's. One 1945 Georgie. I'm guessing about 35% copper. Pretty happy about that. Definitely more copper in CWR in my experience.

By the way, it seemed that every other CWR had a pubic hair in it. I wear latex gloves when I sort, but still......VERY gross.

Did (2) Boxes of halves last night. NOTTA in both boxes. Minnesota boxes are getting worse and worse with a ton of marked coins. I did find a weird 1995 half dollar. It has a drummer on the front and a picture of a cannon on the back. Anybody know what this is and the worth?

    Thanks in advance.

Bad news: Today I stopped in one of those shady "we buy gold" places that I know has coins too. I walk in and the guy has 5 boxes of half dollars on the counter. Apparently, owning a shop where they buy gold and silver from elderly for way under value is not enough. Now they are driving around buying up all the boxes (The ones Bob and I order) from local banks. Then to top it off, they put them back in BWR and turn the boxes back in which is why Bob and I have gotten already searched boxes lately. He said he is trying to buy 20 boxes a week. Even worse, his sister and brother both also own those shops in our area so I am sure the damage is times 3!!!

As far as today, picked up one box, skunk and was taped shut...duh. Stopped at 3 banks and found5 40%'ers. Best find was a 1992 ASE at a garage sell for $25. They also had 6 or 7 commemorative halves and dollars but they were way over priced so I passed.

I had had a great run on boxes lately.....13 out of 16 had silver, including my best box ever, 87, a 19 silver box and several in the high single digits. I usually get about 50% skunk boxes, so this run was very nice.

The Box this morning was my 3rd skunk in a row....oh well. And, read the bad news above from Erin.....nothing is more frustrating than to open a box and find all of them have been opened and folded down. GRRRRRRRR!

I have one more box that I'll do later. I did stop at a bank's drive through window and ask for halves today (I usually go in, but this was a bank I don't usually go to and I was in a hurry). They said they had 2 bucks worth. I sent them two paper Washingtons and they sent me 4 40%ers :D

searched some of my grandma's change in her room found a war nickel 1 wheat and a 1969 cincuente centavos

  12. Wow, lucky! I've only seen three halves in my bank before, and I politely asked the teller if he could tell me the dates on them. All 1977. They did have an Ike though, so I was happy.

I'm taking a trip to Idaho next week...hopefully there will be a bank with some silver halves in them...because Salt Lake City is mostly dry (although not completely dry, mostly...)

Last week I picked up 5 rolls of dimes from my bank just for fun. Found one 1949 and one 1960, both pretty worn (VG+ maybe) but still exciting.

Although my bank still has boxes, they want me to take bags.
There are $50 in a cent bag, $200 in nickels, $1000 Dimes, Quarters & Halves and $2000 in dollars. These are large heavy clear plastic bags. I don't think they will have the boxes much longer at my banks at all.

To get them, just have the cash and ask to buy a bag of whatever coins you want. Sometimes, they will want to order them for you and that generally gets processed with your account number. Believe me, they will tell you everything you need to know at the bank. At least that's been my experience.

    My 2nd box today yielded 3 40%ers.

So, 7 total for the day. Not great, but I'll take it!

I have yet to find boxes at any banks in my area, I did have a bank the other day offer me bags when I asked for boxes. Thats what I do now and I like it allot better since I dont have to open any rolls this way.

Been through a $100 bag and a $200 bag of nickels. Have not tried the dimes or dollars yet. They dont have bags of halves, most banks coin counters around here dont accept halves they will jam the machine?!?!?! atleast thats what they tell me

Some coin counters don't have bags for halves, so the machine isn't programmed to accept them. Ditto large dollar coins.

Not sure if this qualifies for this forum but this is my gang, so I will post it here. Roll searching was dead this week but I found a couple of garage sales that had coins. The first I already posted about. The second I bought a small collection from a guy with silver quarters, dimes, halves, nickels and a few miscellaneus. He also said he had 4 rolls of wheat pennies that he "threw" in as they aren't worth much. We just went through them and found 30 from 1924 or ealier including 2 1909, 1910, 1911D, 1914 and several "s" in the teens. I don't do many pennies but never found any that old especially a nice little group of them.

Just wanted to share for the penny guys,
