    Yeah, I know. It was so cool. My first 26 rolls all had silver, many with 3 to 4. I didn't want it to end......then, of course, you had 3 more like that. Two "Best Finds Ever" in one day. Awesome.

    By the way, what kind of boxes were yours? Mine was brinks.

    box 9 of 10 yielded 1 1967, 1 ben frankling, 1 walking liberty, and some 50 new pence british coin that is no longer being used as money and they say isn't even worth .50

    That '64 type B quarter I found in a hoard is selling for about $30 on eBay. I took some scans, but they were pretty lousy. Going to dump a couple hundred bucks for dimes today. Wish me luck.

    Well, I don't know whether I'd talk about any halves being "in circulation" at this point. :)

    I think what these last two wins prove is that the big clearinghouses aren't yet separating silver, and people are still cashing in "gramma's jars of coins" at face value. I expect the jars of coins will continue for some years to come, but I wonder how long it'll be before the big suppliers start separating incoming coins. At that point, it'll be a matter of catching the coins when they come in to the bank, and before they're sent out.

    JeffB.....that was EXACTLY my thought. I had heard rumors that Brinks was clearing out silver, but these big finds strongly suggest they are not. That is good new for ALL of us.

    :)

    I don't believe the casinos in Las Vegas have a method to seperate Silver or are using it. But my banker informed me that the company who receives and process the coins before sending them on to banks is. Perhaps, that's why I haven't gotten any silver at all last year, except for 2 Roosies that actually came from CWR cent rolls. Go figure

    2 boxes today hoping that I'd have some similar luck.

    box 1 - skunk
    box 2 - 2 40%

    All of my boxes are Dunbar and I have to say that my buddy to the north who gets Brinks boxes always does way better than me. However, around here, Dunbar is the company that services all of the bank coin machines and Brinks is the one that picks up coinstar and the super markets. I always feel like Dunbar should be the one based on the bank machines but I'm think that isn't the case now.

    Bob and Gypsy, nice finds!

    Good to see these finds, there are definitely some nice boxes floating around. I'm working on one myself right now.

    First fifteen roles have yielded 12 40%ers and 2 90%ers.

    Did a three more boxes this past week and pulled 5 40%ers.

    I'll update when I finish the other box.

    That's interesting. I was under the impression that coinstar did its own sorting. Those machines drop the coins into a special removable safe that's designed to be carted around in the a coinstar sorting facility. Coinstar has a lot of inhouse designed technology. It would not surprise me if they weren't pulling silver from what they count. I bet they see more silver than most.

    Maybe Brinks is only supplying armored car services to Coinstar.

    It's possible. However, it's 3rd party services that pick up for coinstar. I've called coinstar in the past and they've said you can't buy from them because they have contracts with others to pick them up already. The more I read and the more people I talk to, it seems that everything varies between states and locations.

    Week 1 "Team Photo" below:

    I've read some of this thread - thanks to all who have posted, especially on subjects like dump banks. I found one that I have an account with that has a coin machine.
    This week I've gone through:

    $ 50.00 face in pennies
    $ 70.00 face in nickels
    $ 1300 in Halves

    I've found:

    14 Wheat cents (all from the 40's and 50's)
    2 King George Canadian cents ('43 & '50)
    60 nickels (50 years old or older. No war nickels though)
    7 Ikes - I have been asking tellers for them
    1 Walking Half, 2 Franklins and a 1969 Kennedy
    1 1973 BU Half
    1 2002 BU Half

    I also found a '67 penny - I keep them because it is the year I was born.

    I have another 2 boxes of halves coming in on Thursday - I am pretty excited. I have gone through 2 boxes that I ordered and $ 300 face rolled from various banks. I found all the silver in the ordered boxes.

    Not sure if these are good, bad or average results - but any roll or box that yields some silver is worth it to me!

    I am pretty much addicted to roll searching now!
