Box of cents done. Found a 2000 WAM... That means I've found a 1998, 1999, and 2000 in the span of one week, ha.

    16 Wheaties...

    1929
    1936
    1942
    1944 x2
    1944-S
    1947
    1949-S
    1950
    1951
    1953-D
    1956 x2
    1957
1957-D x2 including one AU RB.

Also found BU RD 1967 and 1969 to go along with 8 Canadians.

Merc - have you ever sold any WAM's? If so, how much did you get for them?

I have been searching boxes of Lincoln cents for a few months now. The current box I'm working on as been GREAT so far!
I'm only thru 10 rolls and found a 1914 and 1919, along with other wheats as well. Sorry no pics, I'm in the process of getting things together for that.

Not yet... still trying to figure out if I wanna get my 1999 WAM slabbed before I go and sell it. Might just sell it raw on Ebay...

The 1998 and 2000 will only bring a few bucks in mint state, because they're relatively common.

I just started looking for the other ones besides 1999 about a week ago... keep at it, they're out there to be found... My strategy is just to dump out the roll, flip them all heads up, split out any wheats first, then separate by copper and zinc, then I pull any 1991 or earlier zincs, toss 'em, check the 1992's for CAM's, then flip over the rest and look for WAM's... so I check everything from 1993 and later for a WAM.

I searched through some halves today and found this one. I also searched some nickels (15 rolls) and found 5 pre 60's. I got a 38-s, a 42 non silver, 53-d,54-d, and a 58. It was my first 1938 so I was happy.

I've found 3 WAMS so far and all have been in pretty much circulation (no BWR and I've been through a bunch of those.) I would find a semi-local bank that sells bags from their coin counter. I got 1 bag that I'm half way done with and found 2 WAMs from it. The other was one I found from the change people gave us from a baby shower. Never found one from a brinks box or anything like that. Just a thought.

I'm curious, has anybody tried searching through CWR of pennies and nickels? Do those yield more or less finds than going through a box?

    Cents; More finds.

    Nickels; Less finds.

    Just from my experience.

Craig'slist is more dangerous, You actually have FTF contact with the buyer, so they can find out more about you, where you live, where your stock is stored, etc. I just don;t bother with Craig'slist for that reason. Even if I do keep all the better stuff in vault boxes.

For newer cents in better condition, the CRWs seem to be better. I think many people have a coin jar and dump their change. So the newer coins sit there until they get cashed in. I think the same holds true with nickels, but I never buy boxes of them, so I can't compare.

I did find some really nice Wheats and an IHC in CRWs last year. Looked like someone may have rolled some coins they had intended to collect. A couple even looked like they had been in a folder. Also earlier Canadians than I have found in boxes.

MERC CRAZY--Congrats on the WAM's and wheaties. Are you really into mercury dimes? If you are I could sure use some pointers on grading mine. Even using the PCGS PHOTOGRADE SYSTEM, I still have trouble. Roosies too. zeke

I love my Mercs, yeah, but I am **** for grading them without a loupe and having them in my hand... even then, I struggle a bit. I'll get better once I start putting together a set. :) Committed to Morgan dollars right now.

Killer, just got payment from the Ike dollar purchaser... Looks like I'll clear about $32 off the purchase. Gonna ship 'em out tomorrow... any advice on how to make 'em not make a huge mess banging against one another inside the flat-rate box?

I use a small flat rate box. I have paper rolls for the ikes and place the rolled coins in the center and then pack the rest of the box with newspaper. Then I tape up the box real good. I haven't had a problem yet.

Found a 1957-D quarter in a roll today at work. Scrounged around in my pockets and found the appropriate change to add to the till to even out the drawer. 3rd silver PERSONALY found by me, all in the last 5-ish months. All quarters. Rest where a Christmas present. I am officially addicted.

Posted over on Error's, but I found a 1995 DDO after 6000 pennies today! Put a huge dent in my Dansco on this last batch of pennies. Still have a ways to go on the wheaties though!
