There's no doubt in my mind it's a mint-state coin.

Did a box of dimes today, skunked. 60% through a box of cents and I've got about 2 lbs of copper and a 1998 WAM. I'm checking every cent 1993 or later for a WAM now, haha.

I got shafted when cashing in my change a few weeks back at TD Bank... they called me today and told me what my adjustment was. $255 and change. Just a lesson, know how much you have when you're going to cash in, don't let the machine tell you.

I almost got $400 for free from another TD bank customer...their deposit was put in my account, because some durr du durr got the account numbers messed up...good thing i'm a nice person...you would think someone else's name would raise a red flag, right? Off topic, but still, good thing I'm a nice person.

Odds are they would realize it later when that person made a stink about it and persecute you if you didn't give the money back.

    Advice Needed,

Going on a two day road trip that is going to allow me to do a significant amount of hunting for CWR's. One bank I talked with had 700 in halves that "had already been searched". I'm debating if it's worth picking these up or not.

Pick 'em up. This thread is littered with stories of people getting good amounts of silver in "searched" rolls.

Did a roll of CWR halves and skunked. Did $9 in halves from teller trays and found 1 %40

Merc - if you're searching for the Wams and Cams don't forget about 1992 Cam. You never know

I got some rolls from the bank a couple of days ago, 2 rolls of pennies, and 1 roll of dimes.
In the pennies, there was a 2009 Log Cabin Penny, and two Canadian pennies.
In the dimes, all but one dime seemed to be good, and when I got to it, it was from 196.......7. And I thought I had silver!

My best roll was actually my first roll, a roll of nickels. I found a dateless buffalo nickel. Not going to find another one for a while!

I just realized I need to get a scale. This 1967 half I found looks more like a 90% than a 40%. There's an old country pumpkin guy I talk to a the local quick stop where I get coffee in the morning who has a folding table where he BS's with people and buys silver... and has a scale... Time to make friends till I can get to a coin show... I know it seems unlikely but I've never seen a 40% shine like this. I would have put money on it having been a 90% when I saw it in the tray. Never know.

I have a few guys that I know in my area that are coin collectors....I am not sure if they search rolls, but I do know that one guy writes our paper and is always talking about silver and he will take silver coins and such with a discounted rate. He knows a lot of the girls that work at my banks, and does photography with them (clean; not dirty photography)....I am wondering if it is worth getting rolls from my towns banks....or if I should go further away....not sure which would be the best. I am currently doing pennies....but have no clue how to search for "errors" and such?
    Thanks.

Now that it's been brought up about the coin transporting companies being able to seperate the silver, maybe that's what has happened here. I mean I suppose the casinos can pull silver withtheir change counters too ? I mean, all the silver I found for the entire year of 10 were two Roosevelt dimes and one of them was in a cent roll. Go figure ?

I know that there are few coin operated slots left, but each operation still deals with lots of coin from the cafes and stores. I mentioned before that they wouldn;t sell me any bags to search but sent them out with a coin company.

I don't think they could prosecute him for the bank's mistake, but they could certainly recover the money from his account whenever they discovered the error.

I have many 40%ers that look like 90%ers, but they aren't. Here's a quick test for you. Put it on your thumb and flip it in the air. Now do that with a known 40%er and a known 90%er. They sound very different. Then flip a clad.....yuck. lol

    This should work for you.....
