Hopefully this isn't the beginning of a trend. Which supplier is it?

I am still trying to understand where the banks get their coins. When the Brinks truck pulls up, with the boxs of coins etc., where are they getting the boxes from? What about the other armoured services like Garda, etc.? Does each armoured service company have their own supply?

    Don't know which supplier.

Brinks recycles their own supply. They offer a pick-up service from banks and then wrap and recycle that change through the system. I believe each company has their own supply, but they do share with one another in case one runs low on something.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to make arrangements to have it sent off to PCGS for slabbing. It's in amazing shape. I'll get some pics if I can...

EDIT: Not happening until I get home.

My work is so dead so I'm reading this thread every time it pops back up to the top, ha.

I was saying, just as I saw that particular '99, "Gee, another '99, another goddamn close A... oh ****."

One of my employees was wondering what I was smiling about for the next like, hour. :D

Beginning to think that Loomis is doing that, as all of my boxes from a bank that gets stock from Loomis has gone dead.

Aside from war nickels I've only found 2 90% halves from boxes and both were in one box. I get brinks boxes from my bank. Never found a silver dime or quarter. And even if I found 1 dime in a box it seems like way to much work to go through 2,500 dimes in order to get 1 that's made of silver. I hate dimes at the moment if you couldn't tell, lol.

Well I've posted this before but I'll put it up there again. I buy my boxes from Dunbar and Dunbar and Loomis have a joint contract in this area. There are times when Dunbar will deliever coins to a Loomis bank and vise versa. I only know this because I've talked with the Loomis branch manager and a honcho in Dunbar. The guy at Dunbar told me that he used to work for Brinks for the last 12 or so years. We got to talking about searching for silver in the bags and in their warehouses and he told me that he's never seen it happen. It was his opinion that any company worth their salt would not allow employees to pick silver. Now the Loomis guy told me that while it's not policy to allow that, as long as you're meeting your quotas, the floor managers usually just turn a blind eye. If you #'s match and you make your shift counts, thats all that matters.

Now I realize there have been others on here that have claimed older guys who used to work for the coin services were pulling silver. I don't know if things have simply changed or the guys I talked to were pulling my chain....

I have yet to find any silver from a box. I've searched through ten boxes of halves, two boxes of dimes, and two boxes of nickels with absolutely no silver. I get all of my boxes from Brinks and Garda.

    BTW

    I just sold 75 IKE's for $100 on CraigsList ;)
