    2 boxes - Skunks
    A few banks - 4 40%ers

    Interesting statistics:
I've searched 234 boxes of halves or $117,000 worth. I also have search an additional $11,121 worth of halves that were loose, in customer wrapped rolls, or partial boxes. I'll refer to these as "loose."

In boxes, I find on average 3.20 silver coins per box of $500.
In loose, I find on average 19.83 silver coins per $500

    Big difference....

Of my finds (1189), 21.03% have been 90%.

This is not really roll searching but this is the thread I share in most often. This stuff makes me sick lol. I just returned from one of the local coin stores as I needed a few supplies. Anyway, I am standing there and the elderly woman walks in with her thick grandson. He is struggling to carry TWO BIG CAT LITTER BUCKETS FULL OF COINS. They count out $2400 face value of 90% silver halves, quarters, and dimes. The ladies uncle (99 years old) had buckets of old silver and was living off of them for face value. He had owned a putt putt course in the 40's and saved all the coins. He also had BU rolls of Walkers he had bought in the 20's and 30's. It was amazing to see them piling it in tubs. Imagine the rares that may have been in that lot. The store bought it all for 18.5 times face..... Her uncle told her she could have anything over face she got for them as he just wanted face value back.....WOW that was a lot of silver.

20 rolls of halves from the bank that told me they had two boxes from their supplier, then told me they didn't. All CWR; all pre-searched. Nada. One roll had 21 halves; guess I should take the extra one back at some point before some folks here jump on me too much. :)

I took all the silver in to the coin shop this morning... Didnt even think about pics... I got $2,120 from them, and then went and spent my day buying and cleaning out a storage unit!! I found 4 morgan dollars, common dates and grades... Also found an album with some walking liberty halves in them! I have yet to cross reference and see if there were anything valuable. I paid $1,800 for the storage unit and also found a WII brand new in box, Lots of jewelery, some scuba gear, a brand new laptop computer, and LOTS more!!! Still digging, hopefully i can find some more coins.

It looks like someone got evicted and piled everything in... It's 2 units together. But if found some info on who owns it and contacted her, and she says her father's coin collection is in there! I told her that she could have all the sentimental value stuff but i was keeping the valuable stuff. She was happy i contacted her, she thought she would never see her stuff again...

I'm cross referencing the W.L. halves right now! I'll post pics in a bit.

I get penny rolls time to time.
I notice that copper was in steady decline over the years.
The last time I got several rolls and pulled copper, it was 17 copper in 100 pennies.
It appears that the poor economy may be causing some to dump copper back into circulation.
I recently got a $25 box and it was almost 40/100 copper.

I keep the copper, just as I would have done silver in the 60s/70s had I been old enough.
It will pay off for me or my heirs one day.

    Edit:
Last box I searched was in 09.
I would also like to comment that this last box not only had higher levels of copper, but that copper was in better condition than you might expect. There were plenty of red/luster 60s/70s in the mix... AU stuff. Probaby 1 in 10 of the copper, which equates to 4/100, or 2 per roll on average.

I may be wrong, but i believe that 1 in 10 equates to 10/100 or 5 per roll... Might be wrong but those are pretty good odds!

I keep red 1960's, especially the higher-relief strikes. Love them.

Yeah I wasn't going to interrupt though I wanted to talk to them but my wife was with me and she struck up a conversation with the lady who was more than happy to tell her about it. I asked the guy helping me how quickly they would turn it around and put it out for sale. I was thinking maybe I could wait a half hour and then pick through it for special dates. His response was "Oh we have a waiting list, when we get loads like that we dump them in $1,000 face bags and call the next person on the list." He said they sell the bag for $22,500 right now. Ouch.... River Oaks has too much cash around lol.

    Half searching

My brother-in-law had started Whitman folders of all the common coins. He no longer wanted them. The first Kennedy half folder had the 40%'s and the '64's filled, so I thought I might as well try to get the remaining coins from circulation. I found the second half album at a coin shop. A neighbor of mine handles the coin vault at a nearby bank and she ordered $500 of halves for me. After searching all 1000 coins I have a pretty decent circulated set up to 2001. Missing are the 82P, 84P, 86P, 87P, 87D, 88P, and 89P. I also found four 40%'s and one 2006D. Also, there were about 20 74D's which had been pre-marked by someone; I checked them anyway. No good.

Keep the extra half. There is no way under privacy laws you can legally discover who made the mistake. That can in no way be considered taking advantage of someone's error. IMHO There is a big difference here.

Did a box of Nickels this weekend. First box of anything I've done in months. Nothing special. Did find a '38 & '54 I needed for my book, but no silver or buffs.

I think I'm pretty much done with Nickels. I'm going back to Dimes, much quicker with these. 1/2's are just too much of a hassle to get.
