Nice find on the indian. My only one so far would be in less than poor condition, so worn you couldn't even see the date.

    My last 3 boxes of nickels; 2 Buffs, 1923 and 1930. 5 war nickels, 42P, 42S, 43P, 43S, 45P. 1 Swiss 20 rappen, 7 Canadians, Taiwan 5 yuan, and a proof '72-S.

I got $30 in dimes all CWR's. Only thing I could use was a 2009 D. Pretty much skunked.

Today I did $100 worth of dimes and about 38 bucks of CWR of halves and loose halves.

    1 1968 half
    a couple 2009 dimes.

    not much today....

When I received all of my Dad's Dansco albums after he passed, he had one called "Cents" which had 4 generic pages....one for cents and the other three for halves. Since I have found so many Kennedy Proofs while rolls searching, I decided to make a display of them. I have a label maker, and used the clear "tape" and labeled each Dansco "hole" with "2003 S" and "2004 S" and so on. I started with the 1964 proof, which I just purchased on ebay for a whopping $8.50 (including shipping....yes, below melt....I got lucky), and I purchased the 68S, 69S, and 70S for a few bucks. All of the other proofs were acquired at FACE either through finding them or trading for them. I also made spaces for the 1967 SMS that I recently found in a box, both the clad and silver clad for 1976 and both types for 1979. So, I now have all of these in a Dansco and I'd have to say, it looks pretty cool! I love that I got nearly all of them at face (I'm a value collector). Also, nearly all of them (1997 S, and 1976 S silver being the exceptions) still have mirrored finishes even though they were found in rolls.

I have only 4 holes, and I want to continue my finds at face. So, I would love to trade for any of these holes for other Kennedy proofs, 2010 Quarters, 09 or 10 dimes, or what ever. If you find any of these and are willing to trade, let me know....Condition doesn't matter.

    My holes: 1995 S, 1999 S, 2007 S, and 2010 S.

    :)

Went through $200 in quarters today; nothing before '65. Is anyone having any luck with quarters? I've got 2 boxes of halves on order, will let you know when I go through them.

Not too much luck posted about quarters, though a couple weeks ago, someone posted as having found some silver quarters in rolls. Good luck, let us know what you find, and WELCOME to the forum!

Got a call today from one of the tellers I've talked to, saying someone just brought in $100 worth of halves. I was pretty sure it was someone else's dumpings, but something told me I should go pick it up just in case.

Got there, and they'd already taken it back to the vault. While the other teller went to get it, I chatted with the one who'd called me, explaining that the person who'd brought them in had probably been doing the same thing I do. "Oh, no", she said, "this was a lady who'd been saving them for years -- she wouldn't have gone through them."

I don't think I drooled on the counter, but you can imagine what was going through my head as she brought out 10 customer-wrapped rolls. I opened them as soon as I got back the car.

    Here's what I found:

    100% clad, circulated.

:sigh: They don't make little old ladies like they used to...

I open quite a few rolls when I buy a coin collection but mostly just stick a pic in one end, lift up, and rip down the edge to see if they are at least silver. After I buy them I have to wait 30 days before I can sell them (county ordinance). Thirty days later I open the bags of coins I bought and IT'S ON!!! I'm new here so I'll start to post some pics as I go thru some buys. I'm a small timer...

Well I discovered a huge flaw in my roll searching system. I actually talked to one of the tellers for a bit today because they weren't busy and she told me that all businesses here on post turn their coins into them. And I thought this shouldn't be a problem because there is one other bank on post except apparently that bank turns their coins into my bank!!! So... I have no way of ensuring I don't get the same coins to search. Good new though is they were more than happy to look in all the drawers and give me some of their coins that didn't fit in elsewhere so I got today:

1 1972 Ike (they thought it was a half dollar and I didn't notice it wasn't till I left... so... instant return on investment!)
    6 1979 Susan B. Anthony's
6 new presidential dollars (well 5 AU and 1 well circulated looking)
And a whole lot of nickels, dimes, quarters and pennies to fill the many holes in my new collection.

The tellers were very friendly and understanding of what I was doing. The one teller told me she had gotten a 1930's era silver certificate dollar the other day but they had sent it to be destroyed as it was too beat up. All in all a good trip to the bank. Now I just gotta figure out how to dump the leftovers...

OK....couldn't you go back in and tell them? (The answer is 'Yes') That would do two things....One, you could feel better about being honest, and two, it would absolutely win you over some tellers who know that you are honest. Sorry for going moral, but I can't let things like this slide....

Today I hit a few banks and found about $130 of mostly String and Son Rolls, 1 CWR, and loose:

    5 40%ers
    1 1964 90%er

    Not bad...

A point; If a teller thinks it's only worth 50 cents when he/she hands it to you, then that's probably all they gave the customer for it.

That box of nickels yielded only a lone '44-D war nick.
