One buff and one war nick outta 5 boxes? Damn, that sucks dude. Boxes don't sound too hot in your area, maybe you're getting my dumps. :p

My one box of nickels today gave me a beat AG-G 1943-P. Dimes gave up a '49-S, which fills a hole.

For some reason I'm never able to find coins from San Francisco. How often does one find them?

Haven't posted for a while. I have been looking through pennies every now and then at work(busy summer) pulling any wheat that I find. Over the summer I found in my register a silver dime, a quarter and a war nickle. Thought I had been doing really well silver-wise. Then today happened. Went to the bank for work and in the change I got six rolls of quarters. I noticed right off the bat that one quarter showing in a paper roll was silver. Yes! Then I looked in the partially rolled up front of another roll, a '40. Two silver! I got back to work, opened both rolls, and they were solid silver!! I couldn't believe it! Two rolls of silver quarters, mid-thirties all the way to '64, with one very worn standing liberty. I have been reading this list, wishing I could find a silver treasure, not believing that I would, and now I have!
    Happy holidays!

Went half-shopping today in Lovingston, VA, a small town in the Blue Ridge foothills. Two shotgun rolls from one bank that said they had lots more -- skunked. Five CWRs from a bank down the street -- skunked again. I'd expected better. Guess I have been spoiled. :(

You don't really hear much about people finding silver quarters. I was planning on setting aside some of my tax money next year to start searching half rolls by the box. I was amazed at this find. The quarter count is: '36-2, '40-2, '41-1, '42-2, '43-3, '44-4, '45-4, '47-2, '48-2, '51-2, '52-2, '53-2, '54-1, '56-2, '57-3, '58-3, '59-1, '60-7, '61-1, '62-9, '63-11, and '64-15. There was also the worn walker and what looks to be a worn '32, the two guessable. And I counted three times, there are 83 quarters total, so the rolls had extras!

    Morning rounds for halves.

    Local grocery: none

Next bank: $4 worth, all clad/circulated

    Next bank: $7 worth, 2 clad, 12 40% (!)

    Next bank: none

    Next bank: none

Next bank: "We've only got this envelope with $4.50 worth. Let me count them again for you." (opens envelope to reveal 9 Eisenhowers) "Oh, those aren't half-dollars -- sorry, I guess we don't have any." (I snagged the Ikes anyhow, at full face, of course. Wonder how much the depositor got...)

Nice find on the more than half a roll of 40%ers. I had a teller sell me $10 in ikes as halves before, as that's what he gave the customer for them. :D

Hah! I got my son 2 rolls of pennies at the first bank, and we just went through them -- two wheaties, maybe 25 coppers, and about 10 2009/2010s. I think I'll go back to that bank this afternoon; that seems like a better percentage of wheaties than I'd expected, and he was thrilled with the hunt.

2 rolls pennies and nickels and 3 rolls dimes. A single wheat. That put a damper on the rest of the evening.
