Went thru about $280 in half dollars today and found 1 1967 Half Dollar better than nothing, went thru 6 rolls of nickels and found 9 pre 1960 and 2 1970S minted non proof nickels, also found a 1971D Half Dollar that was UNC but I tossed it back in the roll.

I just found a shiny new 2009-p dime. It's @#$ October of 2010, and this is the first I've seen in circulation.

This is exactly why I wondered about this little idea a couple pages ago. Hopefully i'm not being rude by bringing it up again..it seemed to get no response the first time. If that's because I was being politely told "**** NO, GO AWAY" that's fine. *lol*

    So...hrmm?

I think Merc Crazy hit the nail on the head. If people weren't actively searching at the banks then I think you'd be seeing more silver in the boxes than you are. Also, I think as people see Silver climbing, and it has compared to last year, they will think more about what they're doing. I know for a fact that one a few occasions my decent scores have been turned in by people who know they have silver.

Relating to Bobbeth's facts I beleive people are searching their coins more than they ever have. I beleive it is mainly the economy and the awareness of the rising price of silver. I stopped to talk to a lady dumping her coins into a Coinstar machine
and asked her if she had any old coins i.e. dimes and quarters. She said she had already checked them out before bringing them
to the machine. She also complained about the increased charge in Coinstar, 8%. I then informed her that our credit union has coin machines that do it free. It is less than a 100 yards away too. I hope she goes there next time.

8%........ I wish. I got a large 2 gallon jar full of pennies from a guy at work. The deal was, I could go through them and keep what I want, but I had to cash them in for him and give him the cash. The danged coinstar machine charged me 9.8%!!!!!!!!!!! oh well..... wasn't my money. : ) FYI: 8,286 pennies and a few nickels, dimes, and quarters. Found about 20 wheats and a couple of S mints.... nothing special but its fun.

went to bank yesterday asking if they had any loose halves but as they usually don't ever have any halves in my city well turns out i got my first silver half loose from a bank yay...1965 it was funny cause the teller first check the side and realized it was silver and i could see in his face he didn't want to give it to me but he did :)

My bank always has halves but rarely has large dollars. Asked teller today if she had any and she said that a lady had cashed in 150 Ikes but they were all already gone. Got 4 rolls of halves though but no silver..... One whole roll though was bicentennials.........

Hopefully, it turns around for you. I broke open a nickel box out of curiosity today and found a couple war nickels, along with a '36 Buffalo.

I bought 10 rolls at the little bank inside Smith's grocery yesterday. 8 of the rolls were all 2010 D again. Man I am so sick of those already. I sold a complete box of them on eBay, swapped a few rolls for P's with guys from here have 34 N R String unopened rolls, then these. lol And these were in the plastic tubing they use now, so they can't go into the partial box of String rolls. The other two CWRs had a 1949, and some copper as well as a 1980 Canadian.

No errors, but one red 1960 D small date. It surprised me because of the color. Thought it was much later. Guessing AU58+.

Just some small drops left! 50 rolls yesterday - found ONE 1963. Although I'm still pumped because it's actually my first silver coin, ever, out of circulation.

1939 nickel. The reason you can get such old nickels is that they look exactly like all the pre-2004 nickels and are of the same composition.

Check it for a mint mark. One of the '39's I pulled out of the box I did yesterday was a D, I forgot to add that. Key date in circulation. :D

I'm stuck in the office all day today, but this is addicting. I may try to find the time during lunch to get a box of dimes and nickels and go through them between conference calls and whatnot.
