First post on this thread. First time searching rolls $240 dollar of halves and nothing oldest was 71 and nothing newer than 2000. Are boxes the best way to search?

Even though they are RARE, the RedBook says there were some 1971-D & 1977-D Kennedy Halves struck in silver clad composition by error.

Got 55$ loose + a box of halves yesterday:

    The loose:

    13 40%

    1 64

    1 63 :)

    The box:

    7 40%

    2 64

    3 NIFC

2 color Barack Obama Coins  Not sure what to do with those.

    Plus

Teller had a silver quarter, which she ended up handing over after asking (1946) :D I didn't even have to give up my "trade bait", a 63 red seal (which I did offer, but she was willing to give over without it).

I've been going through nickel rolls and have set aside all of the westward journey nickels that aren't badly damaged. I believe in the future they may become a novelty and/or fillers for some collectors. Anyway, I just like them. Number one -- Coin collecting is about fun. And, of course, there are those that like to collect and make profit.

Nice finds. Do you usually ask to look in their tray, or do you usually catch the silver out of the corner of your eye? I haven't asked about old bills yet, or if I could look in their change tray...

Found a common lamination error, but my first--soooo its exciting for me. I also found a nickel with rainbow. I don't think the pic does it justice. You see, my camera was made in 510 B.C. with 2.1 megapixel. I still need to go through my westward journey nickels. Let you know if I find anything noteworthy.

Went through $10.00 in nickels today, found 1 1953 and a Canadian 1959. Lots of 1964 and newer, but I already have way too many of those.

Got a box of nickels today was not happy with what I found 98% of the box was 2010P Nickels only found 1 1968S, 5 pre 1960 nickels and no silver I hope this box isnt signaling that the federal reserve is finally unclogged with old circulated coins cause that would be bad.

Put a couple rolls of those 2010P aside... I would.

    Also, I got a TON of 2010 dimes in that $1100. Probably about $400 in 2010 P.
