I haven't searched a box in a couple of months now. Anyone having good luck? Just wondering if I need to order in another box and see if my luck has changed.

    New Box

I just cracked open a new box of bank rolls and I'm like six rolls in and here's what I found so far. 1. 1945 2. 1958 3. 1955 PMDD 4. Shiney 1960 LG Date 5. Shiney 1966.... And... And... And... This little Beaut Attached in a Picture. Those light colored areas are actually red and shiney too, my digital microscope color is acting weird. And yes, that is a scratch across his forehead and the letter S in TRUST.

some nice finds there prospector, my usual five dollars worth of cents, netted me three wheaties, a 25, 44, and a 52-s, about six 09s including two more lp4, a 1970-s that is about ten or twenty of them so far, and a 76 canadian cent. About 25% of the cents were copper.

Oh and I upgraded my 82-p, the new one has no spots, good color, and no little scritches.

A 1925 to me is a good find in a five dollar batch.

Was in a shop today and noticed several golden Sac/Presidential dollars in the cashiers drawer. I requested them with my change, got seven back:

    • 2000-P Sac
    • 2001-P Sac
    • 2007-P Madison
2007-S Proof Geo. Washington (very flashy with wear and loads of fingerprints!)
    • 2008-P Jackson
    • 2009-D Sac/Nat.Am
    2010-P Fillmore

I know there's nothing here of real value here and I don't even collect golden dollars. I also do not like/condone the cleaning of coins but was wondering if the golden dollars can be quickly/gently placed in an acetone bath like certain other coins are in an attempt to remove the grease from prints and other surface grime? Or do golden dollars react badly to dipping agents?

Just me, but I would probably take a soft cloth and wipe the fingerprints off the prooflike washington. Then I would look at it under magnification and see all the marks that little wipe left and wish I had tried something else. Heck experiment with it, try a dipping and let us know, if it is damaging use it on the subway or for coffee or something.

Thanks. Yes, these are all far too far gone to warrant pulling aside for a collection. I won't wipe anything, but I may "dip" the others to 'learn' what effect is produced on golden dollars. It's just neat to find a proof dollar in circulation but would love to get rid of those prints, which are likely permanent anyway.

I was trying to finish my last cent box and was going through the cups by year. I posted this in "What it's Worth" but wanted to share it with you guys. It's the 1988 D DRV. Took these scans right before sealing the envelope to send it in.

Well, finished searching my box of cents from last weekend. Final Net:

14 wheats, oldest being a 1940s(pretty banged up)
    about 30 canadian pennies
    1986 RPM
    1998 WAM
    1955 DDO-2
    and about 30% pre-1981 cents

Picked up another box this weekend, and 10 rolls in, im sitting at just 1 wheatie, a 52s

very frustrated! got $10 worth of cents, so thats over $150 in rolls searched for 2 newer common coins, still no finds! i have been looking for the last two, 2009 lincoln cents, in both P & D. it amazes me that i have not came across a single one. i got probably about 30 wheats out these rolls, and most would probably be happy with that. not me, i have to many(i guess you could never have to many).

i opened one roll and they spilled out all on the obverse, they were mixed P&D 2009's. i was so happy, figuring a few out the 50 should be what i am looking for. and nope, they were mixed but, all "log cabins" and "rail splitters"!

i know i can get real nice examples cheap, and i do plan to get a nice set. i just want the satisfaction of finding them in circulation for my "found in circulation set".

This last box was a treasure chest for me. 25 Wheats, oldest being that 1918 I posted above. One roll had five Wheats in it.

One 1920 Canadian Cent -The 1960 D SmDate I posted above.

And a 1998 W-AM. The 1934 I posted above was the best find for me but the 1960 D Sm Date looks like it might grade pretty good too.

This was the best box I have searched in about six months. The last good find in a bank box was a 1937 P ,Nice and Shiney with mild toning.

    Nice finds prospector!

Did a box of dimes, found a 1964, I almost missed it. I did miss it actually, I saw it sitting in my dump pile. It was pretty thin, and kind of copper colored so I guess I didn't notice it as easily, glad I found it.

Hi guys, this is my first time posting here, but I have been a lurker for a while. This is my favorite thread here and thought I would join and post my results from yesterday. I got 6 half rolls, $30 dimes, and $10 pennies. No silver, but did find
    2010 dime x2
    2009 dime x1
    3 wheaties, '45,'55D, and '12
    2009 1c , 2 lincoln in washinton, 1x log cabin
'98 1c WAM, my first in a few thousand pennies Ive gone thru, plus it is in awesome condition.
Nothing too huge, but stuff I like to collect and look at. I will keep posting when I search more.
