    Excuse my ignorance---

Hello all. I've searched a ton of threads out here, and I'm just not finding what I need, so I'll inquire here.
I'm needing some feedback from more veteran quarter roll searchers. I do $100 a week, and I'm trying to get a disciplined approach going here. Here's what I'm currently doing.

    1) Checking for obvioius minting issues like planchet errors, off-center strikes, rotated die, etc.
    2) Look for any quarters 1964 and older for silver content
    3) Check any 1989s for missing mint mark
    4) Look for the following state quarter issues
Wisconsin - High Leaf and Low Leaf Cornstalk error
Kansas - Bison hump and die gouge
    Minnesota - Extra Tree error
Delaware - First Stat, die crack
Arizona - Extra cactus/leaf near date , doubled motto

    5) I check all state quarters for obvious stuff, but the 5 above seem to be more noteable.

Any other suggestions. I'm just getting started, but I'd appreciate any feedback from veterans. It's harder than one might think to come across complete postings and lists of quarter searching pointers.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Quarters are uncommonly searched because they circulate a ton. Most here do pennies and half dollars.

First box of dimes, found 4 silver roosevelts, very cool as I needed 3 of them for my dime books (65-present full except for one 2009) The pre 65 roosevelt book is almost empty. Maybe I'll find a merc someday to add to my Dad's book he did when he was younger

    Edit:

When you all do dimes do you look at all the dates? I look at dates for the half dollars, as I want to catch 1987, proofs, post-2002 etc. But for dimes... I was thinking of just looking at the ones with really shiny edges and really dirty and silver edges.

Also I need to not get so bummed by canadian dimes, darn silver edges

I look at all of them, primarily because I'm still working on a folder. I probably still will after finishing though, just to look for proofs.

I just look at edges on dimes, shiny ones for 2010 and 2009, and silver ones. The canadians have a silver content 1968 and prior I believe!

Went to my bank that orders halfves to see if they came in, they did, but there was only one teller there and the box was in the vault... man I hate waiting!:D

On a side note,, do you guys who search through a lot of half dollars get different banks to order you halves on a schedule so to say, like you get one bank to order a box this week and another to order the next and so on, so they won't charge you?

...nothing, absolutely nothing. In over two years of collecting, roll searching has produced nothing. LOL, my brother's though have done quite well. We all live in different area's...

Ordered a box of dimes for tomorrow, kind of hope its another box of 2010 Ps so I can sell them to the dealer I'm selling my other leftovers too, but I would kind of rather get a few more silvers!!!

went through a box of halves no silver, 1 hong kong dollar, about 30 some 2002 (looks all BU to me), 3 2003's, 1 2006 and 1 2008. Anyone think the 2002 + years are worth keeping to sell?
