Spoon, haha. Stainless, he claimed the spoon would wear out before it was done... spoon still looks fine, I plan on eating some cocoa puffs with it to demonstrate. ;)

Box of halves: shutout (7th in a row)

Box of dimes: shutout (I can't believe the luck some of you are having with dimes.....I still have NEVER found a merc. I average about 1 silver Roosie per box.

$150 of CWR: shutout. In the last week, I have found over $600 of Customer Wrapped Rolls and found a TOTAL of 2 40%ers)

Another box of halves: 1 1964 and 3 40%ers. Yea! My shutut streak is over.

In the meantime, I went to a coin show today and took my 16 year old son. They had a kid's auction where they gave them play money. My son won 3 standing liberty quarters, 1 Walking Liberty Half, 5 Buffalo nickles (with dates), 1 silver washington Quarter, 2 Mercs, 1 1991 proof set, and one copper nickel 3 cent piece and it was all free. He's way excited and I'm excited for him.

I was out of town today and hit up a few banks while driving through a couple small towns. Got $200 in rolled halves from the first 5 banks I called and found 1 40% in all that. But the last bank I hit up was very very decent. They had 18 rolls and seemed to be very happy to get rid of them. Found 17 40%s and 2 '64s. And to top it all off, they gave them to me in a bank bag and told me to keep it. In the bottom of the bag? A 1948 S Wheatie that was in amazing condition!

How much did the parents have to pay for the "play money" their kids got to bid with ?
It makes it sound like it might be worth borrowing a neighbor's kids to take to shows like that :)

my usual 10 rolls of cents, 1 common wheatie, 2 lp-4s, 3 s mints, about 20 % copper, the unusual find for the week came from a charity I donate to, it was a copper clad steel 1983 1 Ngwee, it has an aardvark featured along with the customary honcho, Krause 9a. It came from one of those charities which send out coins along with their appeals for funds, it is a mint state piece.

ok I was told by Bank of America that they are unable to order Half Dollar Boxes. Also U.S. bank told me that they can order but it costs to order them and it would be $21/box.... are you guys actually paying for them? or am I being lied to?

Some banks charge, most don't. It depends. I can tell you one thing, though, I've NEVER heard of $21 a box---I think they are quoting you that high order fee to discourage you from ordering.

I've heard $5 and $6 a box----but even at those rates, you've got to find at least 2 or 3 silvers per box to even make it worth your while----

If a bank said they would charge me, I think I would immediately take my money elsewhere...even though they have to pay fees to order them and what not...

They don't charge anything at all. They have the kid auctions at shows in this area. My kids have been to the one Bob went to 4 times and have lots of all great stuff. The members and all the vendors donate to the auction. Very cool and a great way to get kids excited and hooked on collecting.

My son got a 1901 'V' Nickel from a vendor at a coin show yesterday. People like it when children get into the hobby.

No rollsearching, but sold rolls of 2010P dimes for 8$ (at same coin show). Its like finding almost 2.5 silvers each!

    Lol, wow.

$500 in beach dimes yields only two silvers.
