I went to go pick up my box of halves today and found out the bank forgot to order them. I hate it when that happens. Oh well, one more week of waiting

    Are 2009/2010 dimes worth putting aside? I found 1 2009, and about 10 2010.

    Lol... Got ya. ;)

    I did a box of pennies as well... 5 2009's, 30%ish copper, and 11 wheats... a 1919S (Beat and badly corroded), a 1920, 1928, then all '40's and later.

I found a 1925 S in my last box that had such a layer of dirt on it I could't even read the date. Still sorting through each year now, but waiting for a better magnifier set up.

I would love to trade something for your 2009 D dimes or any 2010 dimes.....can find them.

I searched a box of dimes today: no silver. 3 2009 P dimes.

I have gone through 17 rolls of pennies today that were rolled in 1976 (by a family member). The date is actually a guess but I haven't seen a single coin after that date. I am a little bummed at how few wheats I have found so far, 16 out of 17 rolls. All are from the 40's and 50's except for a 1916D

Still have 30-40 rolls to go....

They're all P's... Mostly everything I get from the last decade around here is a P... that's what happens when you live about 20 minutes from Center City, Philadelphia. PM me your address and I'll mail you a 2010 P. :)

Best of luck... 30-40 rolls is a lot! Wonder what someone going through my wheat rolls in 40+ years will think...

Got my first box of halves today, and did pretty bad. No silver. The best find was probably a 2005 S proof. Found at least one coin from 1971-2000. The only 1987 I found was tagged by 1 or two people and it has red and black sharpie all over the obverse. Found a few 2001, 2003, and 2005. Also found one gold toned 1976, and a 1983 with a blue stripe on the reverse, don't know if it's toning or marker. I'm debating filling in holes in the folders, wrapping them all back up, or searching for errors.

Ouch! Makes you hate the people who mark up coins others can use. :crying:

Those sharpie marks should come right off with rubbing alcohol on your 1987 NIFC. Also, the 2005-S's were made in both clad and silver. Be sure to look for the silver----

Got most of the sharpie off. The 2005-S is thicker than all of the others, but it looks like a clad to me. Anybody else have a hatred for the 1976's?

A roll of 76's means a collection being turned in; I have gotten some good coins when every other coin in the roll is a '76.

Today I think I accumulated at least 5 rolls worth of 76's

They made way more '76's than any other year. They surpass '71's by about 50m. Thanks for reminding me to call my local bank and see if they got those halves in.

EDIT: Haven't gotten their change delivery yet... hopefully it comes before 4, because that's when I'm done work today.

If it's silver it'll have a white edge; if not, it will have a copper clad edge, just like any other silver or copper clad coin---

didn't exactly search rolls but my grandma gave me a mini book safe thing from a bank that she got a while ago. Found 3 buffalo nickels, 2 1940's quarters, 3 40% silver halves, 4 wheat cents, 1 1941 jefferson, a coin with a naked lady with her front being the heads and back the tails, and...... 7 morgan silver dollars. Also found a canadian $20 from 1950's i think. There is still some paper currency in there since i got this stuff out while it was locked.

Man, I sorted coffee cans and jars that the latest cents were 1974. Put them in rolls by year in an initial sort. Got 96 rolls so far. Now I still need to check each coin. I thought the Fivaz-Stanton list would be a good guide, until I learned just how incomplete it is. Good Luck ! I think this is an endless process. LOL

    Man,
Another $700 and nothing. This is not a good way for me to start off roll searching. I have gone through $1200 in halves to not find anything. I wish 71's and 72's were silve because I am finding a tone of them. I have another box I am going to start now so hopefully I will find something.
