The only ones I have found have been loose, or in a roll from the same wachovia, but that's only like maybe 6 total.

It's a good thing I keep considering a move to the south... I hear the Carolinas are really nice.

I am getting the Shield Cents D in new rolls. I usually buy $10-$20 to keep from getting a whole box of the same thing. Last batch had 8 rolls, the one before had 3 and yesterday got another. I am now finding them in mixed rolls too. I am not finding any 2009 P cents though and very few Capitol D ones.

Ok I guess I need some help from those of you who search pennies. I stopped by my favorite bank today for CWR and they had none so I decided to ask about pennies. Obviously they had tons of pennies so I asked for 10 rolls. From reading through this thread and seeing what people typically find in a box, I guess I hit the motherload for pennies. These were from Dunbar in S&S wrappers

I guess what I need to know is should I be looking for anything particular with the dates I found. Besides tossing them in a jar or just putting them back in a roll. Here is what I found in 10 rolls:

    Canadian
    1 - 1967 (has a dove on it)
    1 - 1977
    1 - 1979
    1 - 1993
    1 - 1999
    1 - 2006
    1 - 2007

    Wheat Pennies
1 - 1911 (worn down, can easily read the words and see the date but it's been around)
    2 - 1934
    1 - 1936
    1 - 1940
    1 - 1942
    5 - 1944
    4 - 1945
    1 - 1946
    2 - 1947
    1 - 1947D
    1 - 1948
    2 - 1951
    1 - 1952
    2 - 1952D
    1 - 1953
    2 - 1953D
    1 - 1955
    2 - 1956D
    6 - 1956
    7 - 1957D
    5 - 1957
    2 - 1958
    2 - 1958D

    Notables
1 - 1959 in great condition (sorry I don't know grades but this is nice for being 1959 in circulation)

If you found all those wheats in 10-rolls....wow! I average around 6-8 per BOX.

Wow! That is a great haul for 10 rolls. I don't find that many wheaties in 10 boxes (500 rolls!)---especially the pre-1950's.

What I usually do is put my wheaties aside in a jar, unless it is a key or semi-key date (which is REALLY rare); in which case I'll put those in coin flips.

They were found in 10 rolls. This is the bank where I've had the most luck with coins in CWRs but these are from Dunbar. I told my wife that I might start buying penny rolls just to see how my luck goes but she thinks I'm nuts.

Honestly, I purchased them just to look for the 1998-2000 WAM because it's easy to do and pulling the wheat cents takes no knowledge of the coins. Now that I have them though, I guess I'll just keep putting them aside.

    4 boxes of halves:

My first walking liberty (1943-S), 1958-D Franklin, 4-40%.

About $230 CWR from various banks, 1-40%.

I've been half searching for 3 months now. My totals are as follows: 33-90% & 284-40%. Best single roll so far has been 15-40%. I've searched 46 boxes and hundreds of dollars of CWR & loose.

    The hunting continues.......

Do the rolls in boxes typically come sealed/un-tampered with? I mean if bank employees seem to be searching the CWR(here at least) what would keep them from searching a box before I got it?

And by sealed I mean the "official" wrappers with the rolled in ends with the coin exposed.

That amount of wheats is really not typical of the amount I usually find. I average one about every 2 rolls so about 25 in a box or so. I am keeping all wheats and also any red copper LMC's
The boxes I have been getting have all been sealed.

That's pretty good on the Wheats. My last 20 rolls only had 7 total, and none earlier than 1946. I found 2 Canadians, 1969/91. So you did good !

Doing the math for just the 90% alone that's over $1700.00. Just think when you started 1 year ago the silver spot was just around $14.00 and now it is dancing between 18.00 & 19.00. You are one of the lucky ones.

    proofs?

Are you guys saying that you are finding proofs in rolled mostly circulated coinage?? It just doesn't seem right that someone would destroy a proof set for a half dollar or just a penny.

Yes, strange as that seems, but true. You never know how these end up in circulation. Someone desperate for money, or, more likely, stolen from a collection and then spent for fear of being caught trying to sell it to a dealer or pawn shop---

How do you tell the differance between the 1976 sliver collectors edition and the 1976 clad half dollar. There are no mint marks so how can you tell. Newb question, I know but I have not found anywere that tells you.
    Thanks
