    Contest

I will post the contest in the correct forum so as not to get this thread off subject. I just wanted a little feedback on it from you all. I will try to officially post it this weekend.

Thanks to all and happy hunting!

so far my girlfriend and I have gone threw 3 boxes of half dollars and have found no silver. Tonight my girlfriend found a 1987 P which is in very good condition :). We have 2 more boxes coming to us before the middle of next week. We just started so I hope we find some sort of silver in the next 2 boxes because I am getting a little worried. By the way what does YN mean just out of curiosity?

Searched a box of halves and found a 67, a 68, and a 64. It was nice to find a 90%er as it had been a while.

Disaster. I searched two Brinks boxes of halves and got nothing but a handful of NIFC's. No silver. No proofs. No DDO's. I'm not searching halves anymore unless they have been brought in by customers. Brinks must be pulling the silver out.

I'll stick to pennies and putting boxes of nickels in the safe.....

Brinks definitely doesn't pull silver out. They distribute for TD Bank, and I just got a Walker Half from them yesterday.

    OK, what is NIFC?

Erin, 979? Wow, you have SOME connnection there at one of your banks. It seems like you have been getting a ton from there recently.

Me? I searched another box of halves and found one 1991s proof and one 1964 silver. I'll take that over a shutout any day?

    Clarification

Bob I think I need to clarify. That is my running total since July, 2009 as I approach 1000 silver halves. Picked up 8 on the way home from baseball practice today so now 987 TOTAL. Also 1 2005S.

$290 in halves, 25 rolls were all 2000d bu, 2 rolls 1998d bu, 2 mixed rolls. Only silver was a 1967. I've never got bu rolls before. This common?

$150 in halves over the last week and got 2 40% and 2007 Silver Proof. That was a nice surprise!

well out of that $300 i found (at least it strongly looks like one) a 1972 D DDR!, also 2-3 other possible DD, but doubtful that they are and a 1974 D no FG

Finished the box and ended up with $51.50 in 2009P and $44.00 in 2009D and $0.50 2007D. Wowzers.. So 19.2% of the box were not for circulation. Does anyone know why people pay the premium and then spend them?

finished the rest of the second box. I got bupkus. Nada. Zilch. No more halves from me unless customers have dropped them off. I know some people search Brinks' boxes with success, but I've gone through 8 boxes and found one proof and some NIFC's (not intended for circulation.)

I also went through 70 dollars in pennies and found 15 wheaties, and some sweet UNC 60's.

Oh, I knew that was your running total. I was commenting on how quickly you are jumping. For example, "Picked up 8 on the way home from baseball practice..." I search a box and find a couple, you stop and pick up 8. Wow, you have a sweet deal with some banks.....I sounds like they do the searching for you and then save them for you. Gotta love that!
