I think I jinx'd myself by posting so soon :0

So far 4 more wheats , 5 "s" mints & 5 more Canadians. Still no other exciting finds , with about 3/4 of the box left.

I opened a few rolls of cents last night since I didn't have any halves. My best find was a 1934 wheatie.....the oldest I've found in a while.

Unwrapped a few rolls of halves at a red light and found a Walker. Only silver one in there, though, outta $70.

I finished a box of bank rolls this morning and have found what seems like alot more wheats then normal too. I even found a 1903 IHC in AU condition. The Real Prize was this 1941 P though, still trying to determine if it's a DDO.

    BTW, Real nice 1952 S

What's with all the awesome-looking wheaties lately? I pulled two outta the stores change today, but they're both kinda beat. A '41 and a '34. In other news, I convinced the girlfriend to go cash in my halves, and hers as well, and pick up $900 worth from two local Wachovia (AKA Wells Fargo now) banks.

I checked www.coppercoins.com also and was unable to find an exact match but there were a couple like on the 6th or 7th page of my search that came pretty darned close :)

LOL. She actually wants me collecting coins because she thinks it's far better than what I used to spend my money on... Electronics. Plus, I told her I'll pay her 50% of melt for any silver she finds, and she has lots of downtime, so...

She wouldn't do that. She'd just go all Liza Minnelli on me. Or try, at least. She's tried it before. Thank god I have a foot and 100 lbs on her. :)

That site is amazing, I had no idea there are that many varieties of pennies. It makes my head spin, the thought of all the things I miss based on their varieties...

Long time reader, first time poster! Went through $150 worth of halves today out of a box and found just shy of 3 rolls worth of 2009 D's and P's. Thought that was interesting, someone must have dumped most of a bag that they purchased from the mint.. Why do people pay the premium and then spend them?

Oh well, I'll take them!

    Rolls and possible contest

OK gang, one of the banks found a few halves for me today so I am up to 979. I am thinking about doing a contest when I get 1000 silver halves to celebrate. My family is going to take a road trip east/northeast from Texas this summer. With that in mind, I was going to solicit ideas/locations that would be fun for my kids along the way. My little ones are 8 and 10. I figured each of my kids could pick one winner.

In the spirit of our half dollar collecting I would give two prizes. Each winner would receive a nice 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969 half dollar.

Initially I was thinking I would want it to be YN entries only but I do not know how many YNs we have on here.

Feedback from my friends? What do you all think?

    Erin

Visit the neat mines along the way and find diamonds or rubies. I can't remember where arkansas? I would visit there for kids, let them dig around and find treasures.
