    Nice finds people.

I searched another box of halves and found 1 64, and 6 40%ers. I'll take that any day.

Based on other members' explanations of how to tell a business strike from a proof strike , that looks like a proof strike. everything is highly detailed and the rims and devices are squared off. Could that be 1 of the rare non-matte proof 1909 VDB's ?

To celebrate bad weather for days here I busted open an old roll.

My Best find was also my saddest find.

Road Kill of what was once a good coin, don't ya think?

Maybe I'll put it up for sale as the World's Ugliest VDB?

Pics of the find I mentioned

Here are the 102 I found in the bank I mentioned. From left to right 1969 (including proof at the btm), 1968, 1967, 1966, 1964, Franklins, Walkers.

Don't take a lot of pics so hope it turns out to do them justice.

That's real nice. Sounds like there's a few ppl here with big success. I've had my own. Tremendous fun when the realization sinks in that you've got something really good. Ultimately things do balance out, but knowing people are having success helps through the droughts. Bobbeth that was tough watching, glad things have turned. Been there. :desk::eat:

    I teem with envy.

Heading to the bank in probably an hour or so. My car is past inspection (Crap!) so I have to drop it off on my way back and walk the rest of the way to work. Not far, but I am not looking forward to that, along with the stress of freaking out around every cop. Should have got this done last week, haha.

    Keep you in suspense :)

My wife's old boss came over to our house to see our newborn and he knew I liked collecting coins so he brought a little baggy full of them to me.
Said he rather give them to me and not his kids since they arent interested in them :D

$250 more in halves gone through. Only pulled a single 1959 Franklin. My first non-Kennedy.

The bank I stopped at had a whopping six halves, the best of which was a bicentennial. The teller did know where there was a branch that carried halves, which I'll hit up tomorrow.

    exspensive Wheat roll contents

I broke down and bought 1 of those overpriced Wheat rolls ( that I am always bad mouthing ) and I was pleasantly surprised to get 51 coins:

    1909 VG
    1873 "open 3" 3cent Nickel VF
    1909 VBD VF
    1937-D XF
    1927-D VG
    1938-D F
    1928-S F
    1939-D XF-AU
    1939-S VF
    1917-D AG
    1918-S F
    1919-D VG
    (4) IHC's "no libs"
    (36) common dates in F to AU

I was really impressed with their over-all condition and especially the Nickel 3cent.

    Take a look !
