Best part about it is that 2 weeks ago I found a 1905 beat up v-nickel, so its 2 in one month for me. Unbelievable, was the last thing I thought I'd find in there lol

Searched three boxes of halves found 1 1964 which is gorgeous looks like it was just minted

At work a different cashier than myself had a customer buy his groceries with 3 rolls of siver dimes she was going to let me have them but I was off that night! So she still has them but her husband wants them but will sell them for $100 still not bad for 3 rolls of silver dimes :smile

Someone always has to try to spoil the fun. I've had great luck searching rolls off eBay and boxes from my bank of pennies. If it weren't for bank rolls I would have never found my 1971 Double-Die -001 or my 1980 Double-Die or my 1972 Double-Die .. should I go on?

Seems like from what I am reading here from your posts is this, that the Wheatie's are making their way back through a cycle of sorts; where they were once very available to nearly not, are showing back up again. This could mean aside from cents from BofA the back of the room/vault as been reached and we are beginning to see what we haven’t for a while. What do you guys think?

Stopped in at a bank I haven't been to in some time today and asked for halfs, she had 2 rolls. The first roll had 1 64 and a couple of dates I needed plus a couple of upgrades on coins I already had. The second roll had 6 64's and 10 68's so ended up with 7 90% and 10 40% not bad.

I can tell you this much. I have been searching bank boxes of pennies for over two years and before where I might find 4 or 5 in a whole box has turned into 10-15 in a box. I have found some serious good wheaties in great condition in bank rolls too. And I mean B/U shape.

This is an interesting thought. I have found more then average myself. Could be a great time for some of us to get some really nice coins:high5:

Yeah, I just let the bank know I will be in tomorrow for a box of pennies, (I like to give them a heads up when I plan to get some). I hope to find more Wheaties then I have been. I'll let you know.

Also, I have two eBay purchases (mixed penney rolls) comming in this week, will let you guys know what shows up.

"Not bad?" That's an understatement. That was a fine haul!!!!

With the wheaties and other coins, I believe it all stems back to the economy and the increase of coin counting machines. I think tons of people put their coins in a jar or something and now, with those two factors, they are getting turned in. Some wheaties that have been stuck at the bottom a jars for years and years, have found their way back into circulation because of coin counting machines....

I agree 100% with bobbeth87 I know I had a big jar, 5 gallons, full of all kinds of coins when I retired 1 year ago and before I turned anything in I started going through it and was amazed at what I found just from pocket change that I had from about 25 years of putting it in that old jar. Had I just took it to a machine or to the bank all that would have been out there for someone else to find. Not only did I have the start of some very nice collections but I turned in almost$1800 for chash. Good retirement!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got back from the bank and purchased my usual box of pennies and the whole box is nothing but 2010 Shield pennies, all new rolls, I can't even search for wheats and errors. How disappointing. ( Think I saw a box of these sell for 100 bucks on eBay )

I had been saving the state quarters for my seven kids, when I decided not to put all my eggs in one basket but divide my coin collection amongst them, two get the state quarters, one gets the colorized quarters, three get the nickel sets, one gets the paper money, etc. I was able to cash in not a hefty but 93.00 in change I had been packing around for years.

Now if I can just put the whole of my collections in one place, it would make it easier to find when I get to add to them.

That is a nice get. On Ebay, the box is fetching 60 to 70 bucks or so. I also box a box recently and will sell them at my coin club for a buck a roll, and keep some for me.

Yesterday I decided to bank hop and buy as many rolls of half dollar coins as I could. Between three different banks (and about 8 total bank branches) I purchased about $1200 in half dollar coins. The coins from 6 of the banks yielded nothing but at one branch I found 1 1964 Kennedy and 7 1965-1969 Kennedy half dollar coins in $200 worth of halves and at a different bank, I found another 15 1965-1969 Kennedy half dollar in $300 dollars worth of half dollar coins. So on the day, I found 23 silver coins for a rate of just under 1% of the total. Also, one of my favorite tellers had been saving an old roll of nickels for me. I do not know how old the roll is but I will post pics as soon as I can find my camera.

Got three more boxes of halves today. Box one had 7 40%ers and 1 64. The other two were busts.....Hopefully I can find some banks with halves on my way home from work tomorrow.
