    The Half Dime Arrows!

Found these 2 90% silver coins in a box of halves. The Franklin half looked like just a toned clad, or a 40% at best, but that made it well worth the wait!

That's a cameo as well, better put that in something so it don't tone! That looks like a true beauty, easily $2-4 value.

Don't you ever wonder how they get in circulation?

I do, but it's good to keep it in the best condition you can.

It's packed away.. both of them... I've been searching rolls for 20 years and this is a first for me... and amazing that I found 2 so far in the same box.

    Are they hand rolls?

Nope... machine rolled but in a box I'm not used to seeing.. the rolls are not standing on end vertically but laid horizontally and not marked by any company known to provide coins to financial institutions like String does.

Wish it was the Philly one, but I’ll take it!

I just found another proof in the same box.
I'm thinking maybe a disgruntled spouse dumped them in a coin star machine.

It's a possibility, or it could just be someone that got them from someone else and either didn't know and/or didn't care what they're worth. (Sometimes when coins get stolen they're also dumped into Coinstar machines!) Happens a lot and is probably a common reason as to why such things end up in circulation. I've found quite a few proofs in circulation over the years and some people not in the hobby don't see them as anything special with a worth above face value. Kind of sad, but I'll save them if I find them!

Sometimes feels morbid to think about, but I try to let the people that would likely get my collection when I'm gone know what it's worth. If they want to sell it, that's their business; I just want to make sure they don't throw it out or just spend it at face value.

P.S. Brief list of proof coins I've found in circulation, so far:
    Nickels: 1973, 1974, 1986, 2003, 2005 Ocean in View, 2007
    Dimes: 2017
Quarters: 1976, 2009 Northern Marianas Islands
    Half dollars: 1971, 1989
They're out there so keep your eyes open!

Quite a bit of the time there isn't anything nefarious going on. Just a bunch of coin rolls that a dealer didn't want, and the person was advised to just take them to the bank.

It’s the Type 1 Ike, where the U’s line up and the R in LIBERTY is a peg. The Philly Type 1 is much more rare. More info here: https://www.ikegroup.info/?page_id=181

Either way, I just went to a different branch of my bank and got another roll in the same No Name coin company box... I'll take boxes like these all day... I also found a red 1944 S and a red 1949 S besides those proofs and that weird 1954 S. Now, if I can just find a red 1969 S DDO.

I once put an Ike dollar in a Coin Star. For those wondering, it doesn’t count the dollar and you don’t get it back.

Well thank you for your sacrifice to satisfy our curiosity lol. These days if I ever come across them I wouldn't spend them, even if they're not worth much, just because of how rare there are to see anymore. I did actually find 3 of them in the cash register where I work, and that was the first time I've seen them in circulation in literal decades. As recently as about the mid-80s I would still see them occasionally in retailers' register drawers but now it's definitely a once every other blue moon thing, at best. I will offer to buy them off of any retailer should I see them.
