    Got a box of half’s from the bank today.(first time in months) found 14 40 percenters / 12 NIFC’s and a 1987 proof!
    Not too shabby!

Nice payout, that holed silver would look nice on my Keychain lol I need to find something else again eventually .The war nickel and 1900 Victoria 5 cent are feeling lonely.

I have about 40 pennies. 1968 s. My grandfather was a banker, and he had them in a baggie along side of many other coins of value, lots of silver, and 4 gold. He corralled them either because they were valuable, or he thought they were. They are shiny and look new. I’d really appreciate if someone can tell me if these are worth a thousand dollars or just one cent, please.

Welcome to CT. I suggest starting your own thread in the coin chat or US Coins forum.

Weekly box of nickels, 1 war nick and some modern foreign. Better than nothing.

Finished a $100 box of nickels today, but no war nickels. To make up for it I got a 1926 buffalo, an ugly 1905 Liberty nickel, and an 1883 no cents liberty nickel! What a lucky day!

I estimate the grade between VF20-30. What do you think?

I saw a while back that some of the old roll searchers jumped ship because of some incident on CT. Does anyone know what forum they're on now? And is there a link to the thread that caused the issue?
    Just curious what happened. Thanks.

Weekly nickel box, skunk. I did find a circulated 1939-S, but that's it.

  11. S20230204_0002.jpg S20230204_0003.jpg I found this 1979-D and it appears to have a line in the hair on the obverse.
Any thoughts? I also think the right end of the line is a cud.
The lighting was adjusted several ways, and this is the best image I ended with.

Is the line raised or incuse? If it's raised, it's possibly a die crack. If not, it's probably post mint damage. A true cud is a blob that involves the rim.

  13. That's the weird part...top left seems incuse/ concave, but as you go right, it raises to where the die would have split.

  14. Note: I also posted it in the error forum (where it should have gone for the question)

Nothing too fancy, but found a lamination error on a wheatie

My latest box of nickels produced two noteworthy finds from the San Francisco mint. Perhaps the most unusual finds were four dimes each in separate rolls and ten pennies again each in separate rolls. Occasionally you will find a dime or penny in a box but fourteen errant coins in a box is highly unusual.
