Silver is a possibility?how can you tell,it's not magnetic. Some numbers are underneath the person a 18-cant read the others.
Possibly 1818 trying to get the right light angle.
I don't know if this will help, but it might:

Never seen one in my life.
Figures, out of all animals I should've known a frog can't hop all the way to Japanmaybe hitch a ride on a whale.
Love when those silver nickels show up!
...Looks like a touch of mechanical doubling to me.
How crazy is this....dumping this weeks coins and this was in the reject bin...
Coolthat would look great on my Keychain with the other one.
And it's sterling
2x cent boxes - solid 22P
4x half boxes:
Box 1 - no enders
Box 2 - 1 ender
Box 3 - 3 enders
Box 4 - 1 ender
Fingers crossed. Can't wait for the kids to get home so we can tear into them.
Really beautiful piece! 1830 wow
Have you been able to trace the maker from the markings?
So the 1830 is just a reference to the lady who had the vision or whatever of the saint. According to the wiki I found
There are tons of makers if you google virgin mary token sterling which is how I found the wiki to begin with
The token/medal/whatever you wanna call it - is 5.39g so with silver at 22.96/oz, it has a melt value of $3.68
Could mine be silver but with the sterling marker polished off.
Looks exciting! Be sure to post results!
Doubt it. There are a lot of base metal tokens I see as well.
I'm still astounded that you asked me about it, I said I've never seen one (Honest Truth!), and then happen to come across one in the reject bin while dumping coins today.
Why didn't you ask me if I've ever seen a winning powerball ticket or something?!?! lol
Of course! What is this thread good for if we don't post results?
