I hear ya! I've just started going through penny rolls, I can think of better ways to spend my time, but when I have no life it's almost better then nothing.

I recently went through $5 worth of pennies, found a bunch of 1970's (which my collection ends at 1979). My oldest one thus far is a mere un minted 1925 of which only 140 Million I think were made.

I picked up two one-cent coin collection books this weekend so now I am focused on 1800 series - to 1940. I have a few 40+'s but without a book to put them in I need to get coin cards for them.

Only had a chance to look through 3 rolls of nickels at work, but found 57D, 58D, and a very dark 44S War nickel - second lowest mintage of War nickels, I believe...

    Pennies from Hell~

I've found alot of neat stuff in the penny rolls-especially wheats and dimes as well as Canadian cents with George VI on the front. My best finds are my 1967 with a broken-up R in AMERICA on the reverse and my 1961 D "Fat 9" which is likely a variation of that year's double die~

    Half question

Up to now, I've been saving all of the 02 - 09 (now 10) haves due to the low mintage/non-circulating deal. But seriously, will these ever be more than face? I put together a p&d set from 02, 03, 04, 05, 07, and 09 and it did not sell at my coin club. Of course, that is a small sample, but I'm not sure these will ever appreciate much. What about the recent post about finding dozens and dozens of these in a box? Save? put back? Will there ever be a premium on these in our lifetimes?

    Your thoughts please.....

Seriously in a thousand years, maybe. In my newbie opinion I would guess that only particular new edition coins or sets will have value sooner.

Well the Bermuda 50 cents from 1970 on were the Cu-Ni ( copper nickel ) composition. I was unable to find the proportions of each , but they have some pretty pictures of this coin at:
    http://www.charliebearscoinshop.com/html/bermuda__coins_.html

It appears that there have been silver proof sets released since 1970 but no silver for circulated 50 cents since 1964.

They are also selling some 1970 Bermuda 1st decimal coin sets on eBay right now

I got 2 rolls of pennies yesterday (like I normally do) and in 1 roll I got a 1916 and 1952-D Wheat (to bad I can't find where i put them :( . The other roll was REALLY disappointing mainly due to the fact that there were 22 mutiliated pennies.

    Some days are just great,
At the local bank today one of the tellers said she had been holding some quarters for me. The tellers there know I roll search for errors and silver, so I figured must be a few coustomer rolls. Then she added they were silver and about $4oo worth, she said someone had brought in $500 worth. The girls at the bank bought $100 worth to have a few rolls each. When she brought them from the safe I almost fell over, they were all old rolls and all marked silver some with dates 30s 40s AND 1964. i bought them all and after opening 4 rolls found most to be in the 30s,40s and 50s. the roll marked 1964 were all BU coins. Asked why the girls did not buy them all, she said they bought what they wanted and saved the rest for me. I try to treat these tellers right by giving them new issues from the mint, birth year sets for there kids etc. Still in shock, sure do love these girls.
Now to start roll searching a few rolls.
