Not a huge deal but it still just blows my mind every time something survives in such great condition in the heavily circulated Loomis rolls...really, If coins could talk... :woot:
Straight on and at an angle. This one is one of those that is just beautiful in-hand and made me stop for a couple minutes...These 1972s are typically just trashed lol!

It is not there, just a trick of light. Meow looked at it from all angles.

Meow just went through 20 rolls of BU Tallgrass and Tuskegee quarters just now. No Ws this time, but Meow found two Tallgrass ones with strike throughs on two of the. They look a bit like PMD, but Meow is pretty sure that they where made during the striking process.

I decided to try my luck at roll hunting so I bought $40 in quarters from my bank. I sat down on a cold snowy night and much to my surprise this was my first roll!!! The only problem is the coin roller slit his throat. I was thinkin about having it cased and graded to give to my grandson. Any ideas as to what this quarter would grade with a "scar"?? 20210201_114828.jpg 20210322_200748.jpg

I know I would need more images but if it didn't have the scar would it be worth grading?

Sorry, but I recommend against you paying to have your W quarter graded given the scratch. It will come back "Scratched", "Damaged", etc., which will ruin its resale value and you will lose money. I recommend you keep looking for more W quarters that are pristine (mint state) condition and have one or two of the best graded and then give them to your family members.

You can continue your search by immediately going back to the bank that sold you the roll with the W on the end, and buy every quarter roll they are willing to sell you!

Hadn’t found any silver quarters for a month but found 3 today. Funny how that works. 51d, 56 & a 62.

    Also found a 2000S Virginia

Well, Meow does have a few pawfuls of BU rolls already saved in a tin can of those mintages. Meow will try to get as many as Meow can before they are no longer around in BU rolls. Meow is a bit sad that there are no more ATB quarters to look forward to.

Allo hunters! Been a long long time. Of course, many things have happened to all of us. I sooo miss the hunt, especially this past year. Things aligned in life today where I was able to have a small window of time and funds to both pick up and dump. Only called one CU in my area and ironically they had $990 CWR halves that they were getting ready to send back to the fed. I happily obliged to take it off their hands. It was slightly funny cuz the girl on the phone made a big production about "just so you know, you cannot bring it back here..." Almost 10 yrs ago this was one of my regular pick up points that I always treated kindly and knew better than to shit on the plate that I ate from. Anywhooo, one of the ladies was still there after all this time and said "I thought it might be you coming thru. You should know that another collector brought these to us so there probably won't be any silver." Of course I said I'd take the risk cuz sometimes they miss the 40%ers. I know it can totally be viewed as slim pickings, but it's more than I had before. I'll definitely take it after not being in the game for a good 4 yrs. I know it's not a great pic, but time was definitely limited. Hope everyone is staying safe and glad to know there's still something to be found in the wild. Be well all and take care!
