Another box of Nickels have been perused. The highlights included my first ever Liberty Head (1905) and a 1937 Buffalo. The early decade count had a 1939 Jefferson. Jefferson in the 40s counted 4 and in the 50s counted 7. Next up is a box of quarters waiting in the wings!

    Nice!
I've only ever found 2 "V" Nickels in all my searches.

You know @furryfrog02; you'll probably start regularly hunting quarters with the release of the Prominent American women, Semiquincentennial coinage, and the youth sports series. I wouldn't put it past the U.S Mint to issue a host of privy marks and more West Point issues to generate public interest in their circulating coin programs.

It's been slow lately, but I was able to get 18 rolls of circulated nickels today. Finds included 2 foreigns (20 Rappen & 5 Euro), a 1955-P, and this 1944-P war nickel.

I don't know if this counts as CRH.

Was at bank. This branch has at least two known half-dollar dumpers (one likes to put a black sharpie mark on each coin he searches.) However, I like to spend the halfs and get them circulating, so I'm always good to get a roll or two. Teller pulls out a stack from his tray. I saw at least one silver. So I ask how much he has in all. He pulls out $80. These are not rolled. Rather, he broke them into $10 envelopes. (Yes, he used the currency envelopes, and just wrote $10 on each. So not really a "roll" hunt.) Took them all. Out of the $80 he had, there was $22.50 in 40% halfs, including 2 x 70-D.

I guess someone dumped a collection. I also know the tellers are fairly savvy. however, a hoard like that should also have some 90%ers as well. Methinks he wasn't too savvy after all and has only been educated on the 1964 and older coins.

The thrill of the hunt sure feels like it was there.

For me, CRH = "Coin Roll Hunting" or "Cash Register Hunting", and in the later I include loose change in the teller's drawer. I always ask.

I guess you could include "CoinStar Reject Hunting" too, but that's already got it's own thread - for the last 9 years! ;)
