    Today, I made my first monthly run to the neighboring town since the CoVid-19 shutdown 3 months ago. Picked up 3 partial bags of half dollars. The first bag held $73 - nada. The second bag held $368 - 3 x 40%ers & a 1986-S proof. The third bag held $73 - 4 x 90%ers, 6 x 40%ers, & a 1974-D DDO.

I also picked up $700 MWR halves and $100 MWR quarters - will search later.

On a related note, yesterday I sold 55 surplus Ike dollars to one of my favorite tellers who collects them. I told her I would pay her 2 Ike dollars for every W quarter she finds, she agreed! I’ll probably sweeten that deal if she actually finds me some as they are rare as hen’s teeth around here, lol. But hey, you never know.

I’m also out of virus hibernation, so today I spent 2 hours and stopped at 7 banks. Ugh, lines were long, and several had only the drive through open so it took a looong time.

I bought all the halves they had: $530 MWRs, $140 CWRs, and $2.50 loose...1, ‘68 and 1, ‘69, and a 2014 Balboa in the MWRs, nothing else. Oh well, something is better than nothing!

Here’s what I found in a quarter box a couple of days ago. No Ws, but some keepers. The Canadian 25 cent is a colorized War of 1812 Commemorative.

First time roll hunting this week! Found a 1936 buffalo nickel, a 1919 wheat cent, a 1964 Washington quarter, and a bunch of early Jefferson nickels! Can’t wait to see what I find next! :)

Meow thinks Meow has a die chip 1997d penny. But is is very corroded and hard to see. Meow likes to keep Memorial column die chips, and has several good examples in the Cat Hoard. What could Meow do to pretty it up a bit? Meow soaked it in acetone for a few days, and it got a bit clearer. But not clean enough to make this Cat happy. Any ideas?

May turn pink, but Meow will try it for a short time.

I tried vinegar and baking soda the other day on some quarters. They became very shiny but after a day or two went back to not very shiny. I didn't scrub or anything besides soaking.

@jensenbay How about vinegar, salt, and a piece of aluminum foil?!?! :nailbiting:

Admittedly, I have used this concoction on a couple toasted 40% JFKs, but do not recommend it for any coins potentially worth more than their metal content.

    Happy Hunting All

Ok, so. Meow used vinegar with a bit of baking soda for a few seconds, and it made a difference. Especially in the area of the die chip. Meow is happy with it.
