Looks like Meow went hunting for bear. I think I speak for all in saying that we hope Meow didn't get skunked. Did Meow bring home the bacon??

Great finds, I’m jealous! I’m not sure if the one is a grader. Is there some chatter above the woman’s head on the reverse or is it something else? If chatter, I would not have it graded. I will say that it’s hard to find a nice AMP. I had to settle for a MS63. Good luck whatever you decide. :D

I agree with you on that one. I don't send them off unless I think they can at least break even in value on my grading fees. :pompous: I guess you can say it looked good until I got a good look. I have two better ones in route to NGC and one that I may send once I get some more stuff together to go with it.

Yes, I have the same break even or better rule. It’s keeps me from sending in “vanity” coins I find CRH, lol. Nonetheless, I have been on a bit of a tear lately with 13 coins going to ANACS in a batch with other coins from our coin club! Good news is with high volume batch submittals, our grading cost per coin is around $14. :greedy:

I have had many high moments upon first viewing the W quarters I have found only to be disappointed once I looked at them with a loupe. :grumpy:

    Keep on hunting!

Looks like my wild ride with 2020 W quarters has ended. Grocery store got a new box of quarters in and they are circulated. It was fun while it lasted.

Meow has been working on the latest pile of loot to hunt through and has found what Meow thinks is 2019d doubled die. It is the typical type of doubled ear found in pennies of last few years.

Box 700 of Lincoln Cents tonight...This is what came from it...

1879 IHC. At 141 years old, it is my oldest coin found in circulation. Not beautiful by any means, but absolutely amazing to think that it was still in circulation this many years later!

Nice find, Furry! That coin has the kind of wear on it that is indicative of 100+ years in the wild.....which is great! I bet it spent a 20 or 30 year stretch sitting in an old dresser at some farmhouse in Celina, Ohio and then for it's other 110 years, just freewheeling it's way criss crossing all around the country. Wouldn't you love to know which notable people's purses and pockets that Furry's new friend spent a little time inhabiting? I'm thinking definitely Charles Chaplin, Charles Lindbergh , Charles Bronson and Charles Barkley as far as famous Charles' are concerned. Furry........you may want to seriously think about setting him free. This coin belongs in the wild.

I like your imagination @White Ger. Shep. Lover :)
Unfortunately, this one will not be facilitating in the trade of goods and services any longer. She now has a place of honor in my collection. Both as the oldest coin I have found roll searching, and also the oldest Indian Head Cent I have in my collection.

Treat her well, Furry. We know she is in good hands, but do not be shocked one day if upon checking on her, you discover that she has mysteriously vanished. With 141 years of experience, she may just do a Shawshank Redemption on you.

If anything, she will get passed down to one of my kids.
My oldest has shown quite the affinity for coins. Ancients, modern, world, he loves em all.
I know he is gonna be mad when he wakes up tomorrow though because until tonight, the oldest IHC we had in our collection was his 1881.

Your son won't be too upset, Furry. His 1881 has your 1879 destroyed in the looks department. Maybe you should give your new find a nice little "makeover" before unveiling her. By the looks of her, she has never seen an ounce of distilled water or olive oil. Who knows? Maybe there's a true beauty under there somewhere?

Would you believe that he got that from the "Treasure Box" at the Baltimore Whitman Show's Kiddie Korner? Lucky SOB.

"Treasure Box" is quite the appropriate name. Great find! If they allow adults to take a grab or two out of that treasure box, then count me in for Baltimore 2020.

Meow has found 2015ds and 2018ds just like it. Meow did not know that there where 2019d versions of it too. It was the first Meow found of that year.

I found this 1975-D broadstrike in a nickel box. Almost threw it back, but decided to keep it. Any input as to its value?
