I know. My thought was if you only edge search the coins, you will definitely miss some. I have missed several over the years. I only found the silver when my handful (roll) of edge searched coins hits the bottom of the bucket. It was the unique sound of that odd lone silver half, hitting the cheap clad that jumped out at me!

We all love the sound and smell of silver in the morning. Like @TexAg says:
It’s the smell of victory! icon_smile_thumbsup.gif

Stopped at 3 banks tonight, and 1 had $40 in CWR halves that held 4 BU bicentennials and the rest junk, bummer.

Got my box of halves today. Was going through looking for enders and found a dollar coin on top of the bottom half of the box. At first I thought I got another gold platted Kennedy. No, it was a loose dollar coin. What are the odds? Did someone throw it in the box or is money flying and bouncing around when they processes the coins? Anyone else experience this kind of thing? 20191004_200749.jpg

I have had random loose in boxes but never a dollar coin.

So, did you end up 50 cents ahead?

$1 ahead without searching yet. The dollar was not in a roll but just loose in the box. I will go through them today.

Went through the box and got 3 1968D's and 6 really nice looking 1981's. Oh yes, and the loose dollar in the box. 20191005_111619.jpg

I know I said I hated doing penny rolls, but now I’m getting to like them. Found this in 8 rolls I searched tonight. 3 out of 4 2009 life of Lincoln series. 2 wheat Pennies ( 1957 and 1953) . 2 really nice condition pennies (2000 and 2007). And 2 1995’s in. Great condition. One has a weird “orange peel” like finish? Anybody know why or what causes it? Didn’t even begin to photograph the nice toned ones I found either!
Pennies were a nice diversion from silver hunting and quarters. Won’t give those up though!

I'd like to see. Especially the 1972 DDO.

That's fine. I can wait! nearing bedtime here anyway. I must be getting tired. When I enlarged the picture of my pennies (obverse). The 1957 on the bottom right looked doubled to me. Didn't find doubling listed for P but I did find it listed for D.

Tomorrow, ok?!?! haha. I'm enjoing a slight wine-buzz right now and am not in the picture taking mood.
FYI - Just be aware that it isn't the "big one". Just one of the smaller doubled dies.

They aren't going to offer to order them, you have to ask if they can. If you don't have an account then chances are slim. If they will do NOT return them to the same branch!

    Can anyone answer this?

Wow, how did I miss that?

I have accounts all over the place, and have accounts at almost all major chain banks. Do you think I'll have more success there than the smaller banks? I have a "cashless" credit union that I can dump all my unwanted halves in (they're "cashless", but they also have a coin machine, go figure), so I know not to return them to any of the banks that I request halves from.

@Beardigger and @Islander80-83 Here are the best pictures I could get this morning. Poor coin is in rough shape with the verdigris. Wasn't easy to get good pictures of the doubling through my loupe/phone set up either. DDO 007 isn't the sexiest of the 72 Doubled Dies.
