A couple months ago I found a local buyer via cl that paid me 5x face for 40% halves. Try your locality and you may be lucky, too.

Not mine. They're all chiselers around me. Good for you though.

    The MWRs were okay:
    $410 Brinks: 1 x 1964-D & 3 x 1974-D DDO.
    3 Brinks Boxes: 1 x 1959-D, 1 x 1963-D, 1 x 1964-D, 1 x 1974-D DDO.
    Here’s a few pictures.

I picked up $80 worth of MWR halves from one bank last night on my way home from work. There is a stickered ender. Appears to commemorate a National Park. There is one more bank I like to stop and ask for halves near the beginning of each month when their typical coin order arrives, so I hope to do so tonight. This weekend I'll try to make time to search the 100+ rolls I have picked up this week. HH everyone!

I saw this article linked on another coin website and believe it is worth sharing here:
    https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/02/coi...l-hobby-that-can-make-you-a-lot-of-money.html

I rolled my eyes while I was reading it because it puts such a positive spin on our hobby and indicates people can make a lot of money searching coin rolls. Those of us who have been doing this for awhile know we do it for fun and we would earn more money spending our time working at a fast food restaurant when time, gasoline, and other costs are considered.

This type of article encourages more competition, which I find annoying. On the bright side, most newbies will give up after a short time when they search a few boxes and realize they aren't finding anything with added value above face.

Get ready for the influx of idiots asking questions about their million dollar (clearly damaged) coins.

    I've searched through $1,500 in quarters, found 2 W AMP, 1 W WITP, and a 1954 Washington. Hope I can still find a W Lowell!

Last night I searched 83 of the 108 rolls of MWR halves I had stockpiled. Found 1, really dirty 40% ('68D) and 1 magician coin ('71D). I was satisfied. Today is dump day! :yack:

The week wasn't a total bust, I searched 14 boxes 3 contained Silver, 2-64's 1-65, 3-67, 1-68, and 1-69. NIFC 5-17D's 3-18D, and 1-P, Its nice to score silver in any amount. More is always better.

For those who search halves, how do you get them? My local banks all either have none or only one or two at a time. None have offered to order them.

    Attention half dollar roll searchers!

Yes, this is a test. Don't worry, it's an easy test.

True or false Question: If you only "edge" roll search, you will miss silver?

Has anyone here found any of the San Antonio Mission "W"s? I have seen a total of 1 Mission quarter and it was a Philly.

False, but only if you are careful and check suspicious edges as well. Otherwise, a dirty edge silver will slip by you!

Penny box hunt today. Find of the box was definitely this 1900 IHP. Does that look like an off-center strike to you?
