On the way back from a week long visit to my Mom in Houston. On the way down and on my way back, I dumped 6 boxes of halves in banks outside my Loomis Home Region. This is my small way of getting rid of coins I’ve searched so they don’t get re-cycled back to me, lol.

Also picked up a sealed bank box and $40 of MWR halves. Will search them tonight when I get home. HH everybody!

Went by my LCS today for supplies. On the way home decided to stop at a nearby bank to see if they had any half dollars. Teller had $4 worth she sold me. I noticed 1 was silver, the rest looked like clads at a quick glance. Got home and looked, 5 were 40 percenters!

 

I married a woman who hates pocket change.

 

Bank box and MWRs were skunks. Picked up 4 boxes of halves once I got back gone. 1st two were skunks for silver, but did find a 1974-D DDO in each box. 3rd box was a Brinks which had some good stuff.

Will search box #4, and pick up box #5 later today.

 

4th box was okay:
3 x 40%ers
2 x 1974-D DDO
1 x 2000 Ecuador 50 Centavos
Oh, and a batting cage token that was much smaller than a half dollar. The roll still had 20 halves in it, though. Taking a break now, my neck hurts!

 

5th box was headed for skunksville until 2nd to last roll when I found the shiny white rim I crave, lol. Also found 2 more 1974-D DDO.

 

Gotta love those shiny white rims!

 

Box #6 (last box of the week) had a 1969-D and another 1974-D DDO. That’s it for halves this week unless I luck into an odd box somewhere. HH everybody!

 

How many boxes are you doing a week?

 

Only 2 right now. I was doing 4 but with so few results, I decided to move the money into quarters(for the Ws) and cents (my fav to search).
Sitting here at the hospital all day. Won’t be able to pick my weekly boxes up. I am jonesing right now lol.

 

7 rolls into a quarter box. 1 1999 S proof Pennsylvania quarter and 1 AMP W!

 

Had a really fun box the other night! Half the box in yellow paper rolls and found nothing, half in black paper rolls and had one point with silver in 7 rolls in a row! Last row had a 1945 Walker, my first ever. Total had 5 90$ and 6 40%

 

Gave mom and baby a break from dad and went to go get my weekly boxes. Just did a quick box open and it doesn’t look to be good. Quarters are almost solid 2018p Cumberland Island. Cents are solid 2019p. Hopefully the halves redeem the week.

 

Just finished going thru my box of halves for the week. Only got 6 NIFC's. BUT, one of them is gold plated! 2002 P gold plated with a partial sticker on the obverse? Have not seen one of these before. Anyone have an idea of why the sticker was on the obverse?

 

Aftermarket companies like hsn sell gold plated/stickered/painted you name it crap at high mark ups as “one of a kind rare collectable” to those who don’t know better.

 

Yep. They paint Kennedy halves with all sorts of things -- former Presidents, current Presidents, even first ladies. (I see that eBay's sold listings include one Barbara Bush example, and a bunch of Melania Trump examples. Providing more details about those would certainly get one into trouble here.)

 

Found this 1937 well worn quarter while roll searching tonight. Funny......I’ve found more W”s roll searching then I have found silvers.
