My personal experience (worker in convenience store) is that most rarest in modern rolls are silver dimes. Then silver quarters and finally wheat pennies. But yes, they became rare and rare, now real lowest price is $1-$1.75 for average wheat penny.

A first for me today after work. I went to Kroger. Got this as change from the self checkout! Wow.

I don’t do pennies often. But I do a box about once every month or two. The worst I ever done is 3 wheats in a box

I waited until after my night shift to open in, and was super excited to get home and go through the box. Turns out it was for good reason as this was my best box ever. Someone dumped original bank rolls, as there was $60 in BU coins ranging from 1972-1991. A lot of 84-85-86, which are worth a little more in MS. Also, the box had 10 1964 P/D (also BU), 5 40%ers, including TWO BU 1970-D’s!!! One was actually an ender that I originally missed. I ran back to the bank to get another box, but that one only contained a bunch of NIFCs and a 1967.

If any of you expert 1974DDOs find one in crummy condition you are planning on throwing back, please send me a pm. I think seeing one in person will actually help me find them for myself.

I got 160 in CWR halves and in the last roll was a silver 1976!!! I love finding those.

5 banks tonight had $60 in mwr halves and $5 loose...nothing :arghh:
On the bright side a nice head teller offered to order as many halves as I wanted, so I ordered $500 worth for next week.

My $1000 order should arrive this Friday at a different bank.

    I keep chipping away...

I found these 64s, 62, and 59. Are these considered mint state?

Finished another box today, no silver.
I did find a pretty bad 1974-D DDO. I should pick up a couple of boxes tomorrow. HH!

Question.....I got a roll of half dollars from the bank today. It contained 9 1974 -d dates. I can see in the pictures what the the DDO looks like, but what specifically do I look for to tell if it's a DDO. The R's on some of mine look kind of funky, one even looks like a P. But what other clues are there that a newbie should look for. I've hesrd it can be hard to spot. Thanks!

There are several other minor markers, but the best markers are doubling of the letters RUS in TRUST. I use a 10X loupe to determine if I have found a DDO, and I primarily look at the downward leg (right side) of the R as that doubling is the easiest to spot. Here is a more clear example of a 1974-D DDO that I recently found. Hope this helps.

Had to be in Cold Springs for propane so got a box of pennies at the People's Bank over there. It is a 'fed' box of unmarked white wrapped rolls. Got a pretty decent 1945 wheat out of a roll today.
That's all I got to report.

I’m personally not a frequent coin roll hunter myself. However, I found my first 2019 West Point Quater in an MWR while visiting family in Georiga. Once I get home, I'll try my luck again; hopefully, I'll find a W Lowell or War in the Pacific that time around. IMG_2806.JPG IMG_2807.JPG

Is it just me or have the silver halves dried up in your area too? Is this the summer doldrums? :yack:

Never have that kind of money. But if i ask for a roll of halves. I can get them. Found a few 40's in Buffalo. Least maybe one every 3 to 4 rolls. Never a 64. I need a 64d. I'll be damned if cuz i try. Gal at bank says people give her good news on their finds. We get old silver but takes almost a year to get 2019s
