I had to do a quick count when I got back to the house. Approximately 135-140. I don't know if they came to my region from the mint back in 1974 or what. But, It's uncanny how many I find. This one had a shiny rim and that's the only reason I found it since I pretty much just edge check halves now.

Thanks! I've put even nicer ones in my kids' Dansco albums. Saving a whole 'nother set of Kennedys for my grandkids for when they get a little older. :)

Picked up $300 CWR halves from a bank I don’t normally frequent. All were generic half dollar rolls except one. One stray 40% er in those. Then came the odd roll.../

Had 13x 40%ers in it. Love it when that happens :)

Also grabbed a box of quarters. Ended up with 15x American Memorial “W”s and a 2015P Homestead “leaky bucket”. This brings my American Memorial “W”s up to 48 now...:banghead:

  9. 20190702_172535.jpg First time hunting nickels and I found a '52 S. I got 3 Loomis rolls full of uncirculated 2012 D :banghead: and 33 CWR. Other '52 is a Philly and the '41 is a Philly the rest are Denver. I started to get too many '64s looked up why and dumped them back into the wild. Sadly no 2009's or buffalo. But on the bright side I found Jefferson with a hole in his head and another one shot by a bb gun.

I remember a dumb magic trick during the mid-60's and early 70 was to ask someone to take a nickel from their pocket and then "mentally" predict it was a 1964.

Searched 2 Loomis half boxes today. The first had only 7 NIFCs. The second had 1 silver, oddly a 1946 Walker. More boxes tomorrow!

Just hunted my worst penny box ever. Not only were there NO WHEATS, but the pennies were all post-1982 "zincolns." That's right—the box had NO COPPER. And this was a bank box of machine-rolled, circulated coins. What the—?

Have any of you experienced anything like this?

Cent box #20 yielded the following wheats: 3 from the 40's and 6 from the 50's including a borderline BU 58d as well as 3 modern Canadians. I've now searched 50,000 cents! My keeper rate for cents is holding steady at 0.35% or roughly 1 out of every 6 rolls.

Nickel box #26 yielded the following: 38, 39x2, and a baker's dozen from the 40's. Also a lone 2009d and 2 modern Canadians. No silver or buff's this time around. After 52,000 nickels search, the keeper rate (1950 and before) is 0.50% or approximately 1 out of every 5 rolls.

I notice too that wheat pennies are getting very rare....I have not found one in a penny roll in over a year...Glad I got a bunch of them before they disappeared
