I’ve been getting extremely lucky the past couple of months, so the adrenaline rush was somewhat subdued after the first two rolls, but nonetheless still a great feeling!! However, I will never forget how fast I dropped that first roll and ran back into the bank to claim the other rolls.

Tough 5-1/2 boxes of halves last week - no silver! My first box this week broke my longest skunk streak of 7-1/2 boxes. I was really getting discouraged, and don’t know how some are able to go through much longer skunk streaks. The box had a 1964 ender which foreshadowed a good box totaling 16 silvers and 6 NIFCs:

    1 x 1962-D Benjamin (extremely worn)
    3 x 1964
    2 x 1964-D
    2 x 1965
    3 x 1966
    4 x 1967
    1 x 1968-D
    1 x 1987-P
    1 x 2010-S Impaired Proof

Tex I get excited if I only get a 71/2 box skunk streak, my longest box skunk streak is 49. Now that is something to get discouraged over! LOL

    $160 BWR halves - skunk
$80 CWR halves - 5 total (1 90%, 4 40%) one being a 68-D of interest. I'll get back at some point with pictures of it.

I definitely know the feeling! Nice score.

And now forever, you'll pick up whatever that branch gets, even other peoples' dumps. All because "that one time..."

Selling my current box today. Only real question is whether I get a "fed" box or a CRW box.

I posted this yesterday but forgot to show closeups of the very worn (FR02) 1962-D Franklin. This is the most worn Benjamin I have found and it’s not even an older Benjamin. It’s as if somebody carried it around in their pocket for years for good luck. This one weighs almost a whole gram less than the standard (11.58 vs 12.50 grams), or a 7% loss.

Box #1 this week was a skunk. I think I have some new competition as somebody marked every shiny (AU or better) 1993-D half dollar with a black marker (approximately 40 of them). I hope he/she gets discouraged and stops searching, lol. It was interesting that I did not find a single NIFC which is very unusual. However, I did find another nice 1974-D DDO which took away a little of the sting. ;) More boxes coming tomorrow and Friday.

Stopped to get $40 in nickels today. They were going to give me customer rolls (which have been dry lately), so I requested bank rolls. Glad I did. Those 20 rolls had a buffalo and TWO v-nickels.

    One v was a trainwreck...

    but it's a 1906.

The other was wiped but shows a clean date

Man, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Franklin that bad. They seem to hold up very well usually. That coin has some stories to tell about its travel. Keep hunting Tex!

You can't. It will have missing luster since it was in circulation, no matter how little time. Handling, fingerprints, etc. It may look UNC, but that is what UNC means - no circulation!

This represents searching 37,640 quarters. That makes about 1 silver quarter per 52 rolls.
