How does a sealed box get through like this? Ridiculous. Every single roll was pre opened and searched. Only thing they misssed was a 1987 S and a crazy toned half.

Same thing happened to me once, sealed box but every roll had been opened and searched. Dunno how that happened!

    $30 quarters: 1976 (P), 2010-P Grand Canyon

    $20 nickels: 1939, 1946, 1949 (x2), 1952, 1954-S

    $5 pennies: 1945, 1953-D, 1955, 2009 (x3), 2009-D, 4 Canadians (oldest 1964), brilliant BU 1964.

Also thought I'd found a rare 1970 plain nickel - just a really weak D. Anyone ever found a 1970 nickel with such a weak mint mark? Also included a damaged zincoln I thought it was interesting.

What happened was someone returned the box to the bank and used the original wrappers. When the courier picked them up they were simply put in another box and sealed to be shipped back out. Pure laziness on their part.

The box I got to replace the one I sold Monday was a CWR box at People's Bank in our town. I'm selling another box today and I guess it's People's Bank again.

I think the only way to do is to not mess with going to the bank frequently. Don't mess with getting a box every once in awhile. You need to be one of those few people we read about who go through multiple boxes of Halves each week. That's the only way to find silver consistently.

I just wonder who that hobby is made for? It's not a working person. It might not be a retired person with poor eyesight and trouble carrying those boxes.

Went for a $500 box of quarters today to see if I could snag a "W". Head teller told me they mistakenly ordered $2k in halves and asked if I wanted them as well....uhhh OF COURSE!
So far I've just made it through the 4 boxes of halves:
    4x 90%ers including a 63P Franklin
    10x 40%ers
    1x Proof - 71S
    1x Gold Plated 76
    1x Panama 1/2 Balboa ender
    1x Masonic Token ender

Finished off my box of quarters in search of a "W". I didn't get a "W" mint quarter (sorry @Bambam8778)but I got a "W" in the form of a 1964D Quarter and a 2000S Maryland Proof. Also did $50 in nickels and pulled out 2 wars (43P, 43S).

    More boxes this week:
    Box #4: No silver, 8 x 2002+ NIFCs
    Box #5: 1953-D Franklin, 1969-D, 2x Proofs, 7 x 2002+ NIFCs
    Box #6: No silver, really nice 1974-DDO, 1987-P, 3 x Proofs, 7 x 2002+ NIFCs.
    Box #7: To be searched

On the 2002+ NIFCS, I’m keeping the best 10 of each year/mint mark for future grandkid albums. I’m keeping all proofs, all 1987-P&Ds, and all 1974-DDOs. Our local coin dealer is opening a shop here in town. I will ask him if I can sell my spare DDOs (>100) on consignment in his shop. Probably won’t be able to sell them all as our local market for numismatics is not all that great. He makes most of his money buying & selling bullion. Pics of Box #6 below.

I made the biggest score by far that I ever have this afternoon. Purchased 4 rolls for $40 from teller. All 4 rolls had 20 Franklin halves each various dates for a total of 80 Franklin halves. I still can’t believe it

I finally got home and took a look at what I was so fortunate to come up on this afternoon. Being that I am no expert can someone confirm or deny if this coins have been polished or cleaned.
Turns out that I have 78 not 80 Franklins, but I do have 80 coins total:
