I'm selling my current penny box tomorrow.
But I bought a CWR box at the People's Bank in our town.
Mostly red rolls with some more current looking conventional rolls and some one end open tubes.
A few nice copper but lots of 69-73 too.

I stopped at 4 banks and gathered $100 in MWRs, $160 in CWRs, and $6.50 loose halves. Skunked except for 3 NIFCs in the loose. Hunting halves in my hometown is very discouraging.

I need some local luck to keep me going!

The Wender I posted yesterday turned out to be a 1935-S and a hole filler in my Dansco album. Incredibly, it was the only silver in the entire box. Oh well. Maybe I’ll catch the rest of the collection in my Loomis pickup boxes tomorrow!

Given I have found only 4 WLs after searching over $110K in halves, I will NOT be starting a WL booklet! :D

That said, I wish you the best, @TexAg!

Hang in there Berto, sometimes the Walkers come in small bunches. I found 5 in one box and 4 in another last year. Total is 34 found from 292K halves searched. Fun, but I agree with you in that I don’t pretend to think I will find everyone via CRH.

34 WLs is remarkable! Your area is an excellent producer of half dollar collectibles via boxes.

Made a trip to the next town for a doctor’s visit yesterday. Of course I hit up my various banks / branches there for halves. Bought 2 partial bags, some loose, some MWRs:
    $119 Bag = skunk
    $31 Loose = skunk
    $130 MWRs = 1 x 1974-D DDO
    $17 Bag = 1 x 1969-D
Will pick up the rest of my Loomis boxes today and tomorrow. HH!

Yesssssssss! I finished this week with only two stinky boxes and boxes 3 and 4 produced 13-40%ers! 3-65, 2-66, 3-67, and 5-68"s. Its been awhile since I broke ten for the week. This is a nice fix to a silver addiction![IMG] I have decided to pick up from my backup bank tomorrow and hope silver will continue to flow. Good Luck Everyone, Many Blessings to you all!

    Nickel box #22 is in the books. Found 7 pre-1950 Jeffs: 40, 41, 42d(x2), 42S, 46s, and 47s.

In foreign, in addition to the commonly found Canadian, I also came across a 1982 Great Britain 20 pence. That's a first for that particular country.

Also included in the pic is the 1956d AU wheat I found in my last cent box.

Went through 3 more Loomis boxes of halves, only found 1 silver (1967) which was a reverse ender. Uncanny how I have had 3 boxes in the last 2 weeks with an ender and each time it was the only silver in the entire box. Going to pick up my 5th and last box of the week, hoping for Ag!

What do they pay for 40%ers these days?

This is completely dependent on the buyer.

The best deal for me has been one local buyer who will pay me 10% over melt for 40%ers. I keep the 40%ers I find until this person is ready to buy, and then I sell all of my 40%ers to them. This buyer has bought from me about every 6 months for the last 2 years, so hopefully, this relationship will continue indefinitely.

It depends on what the price of silver is at the time.
