Picked up my last 2 Loomis boxes of the week yesterday. They could be my last before surgery next Thursday. Neither had any enders. 1st box had:
    1 x 1961-D Franklin
    2 x 1967
    8 x 1968-D
    1 x 1974-D DDO
Will open 2nd box later today.

Save those for when you're older. Put the money toward coins now. You'll be glad you did.

I utterly dislike the 69-73 concave reverse.
I've tried leather. I've tried wood. Bottom line is that if I can't save them they are going back out into the world.
As a general rule they won't flatten. What they will do is get the monument straight but the flats around it get wavy.
As to variation. I can't see well enough to spot most errors.
If I knew specific years maybe.

Sounds like they were from CWRs or maybe a bag off of a coin machine? Whatever it was - fantastic @softmentor !!!

Can't say I blame them. We spent the first couple of years in our house trying to eradicate the mint previous owners had planted in the front bed. It was EVERYWHERE.

but that's the best thing about it. you plant one and the next year the side of your garage is taken over. that is how you find the best ones. then you get rid of the rest and let the best reproduce. typically the silver gods like the mint. it might have been too strong for them or the wrong mixture

Continuing with my study to determine if my dump bank coin counting machines are accurate, I just tested my 8th branch and last branch. The study is now complete:
    Branch 1 - $300.00 my count vs. $300.00 machine's count
    Branch 2 - $540.00 my count vs. $540.00 machine’s count
    Branch 3 - $600.00 my count vs. $600.00 machine’s count
    Branch 4 - $300.00 my count vs. $300.00 machine's count
    Branch 5 - $600.00 my count vs. $600.01 machine's count
    Branch 6 - $450.00 my count vs. $451.00 machine's count
    Branch 7 - $450.00 my count vs. $450.00 machine's count
    Branch 8 - $300.00 my count vs. $301.00 machine's count

Overall, I have to say I am pleased that the machine counts are pretty dang accurate. In summary, the machine's were off in my favor by $2.01 on $3,540 in half dollars for an error of +0.057%. I call that pretty good for coin counting machines and will continue dumping at these branches. Maybe I will do an occasional accuracy test here and there going forward just to be sure they stay in calibration.

@TexAg do the machines you are using for your half dollar deposits reject silver?

    No, I don’t believe so.
In fact, one head teller used to “supervise” her tellers when they dumped my coins in the machine thinking she would snipe any silver she saw. She gave up after I made several dumps there and she realized I was only dumping clad. I opened an account with the bank because they had coin machines at every branch and I hoped to buy their bags. But they have a strict policy against selling bags, so it became my dump bank. It’s good because they have 8 branches so I can spread the pain around.
