I picked up 2 more boxes of halves and $5.50 loose halves this evening. I haven’t cracked open the 2 boxes, but instead finished the $250 in MWRs leftover in my previous box:

    Nothing in the loose.
    1, ‘67
    1, ‘77S Cu-Ni proof
    1, ‘85D greaser
    in the the MWRs

    Not bad.

Half Dollar Box #12 is in the bag and the silver skunk streak continues. I did find 8 NIFC's including an 87D -- the first one that I've found in the wild -- so that kinda made up for the disappointment.

This morning I searched my third box of halves for this week and found nothing

Now I’m in a small town about an hour from home waiting for an auto salvage yard to open. I killed time by gathering up as many halves as I could from local banks. I gathered $50 in CWRs and $13.50 loose.

The CWRs held 2, 40’s, and 1 BU bicentennial, so I did okay.

    HH all

Nice score. Going to try the same and go to different banks. Do they ask you if you have an account? Wells Fargo gave me CWRs but said in the future I would need an account. Suntrust wouldn’t give me anything.

This simply depends on the bank, branch, who is working, position of the sun and moon in the sky, etc.

The worst they can say is “no”.

I don’t have accounts at all the banks I stopped at in the small town I was in, and none of them said “no”. Several tellers were happy I asked for halves because they get annoyed with counting them at the end of their shift each day.

Could have knocked me over with a feather.
Pulled a pretty fair 1906 Indian Head Penny from one of the 'Fed' rolls. Not even going to try and get a pic with my phone.
If I can shoot a decent pic or two and transfer them to the phone I'll show it.

I hit one more bank on my way out of the small town and found $130 in MWR halves...nothing.

    ‘83D gold plated
    ‘67
    77D no FG
    2005S impaired Cu-Ni proof

Just finished one of the most boring boxes of nickels ever! Box #19....

    No dateless buffalo's
    No war nickels
    No proofs
    No foreign
A mere 15 pre-60 Jeffs (although I did hit the 39/40/41 trifecta but they were all Phillies so nothing big there).

Also, that darn 09P is STILL eluding me!

But in spite of the lackluster results of this box, my nickel keeper percentage is running just a tad over 1% or approximately one keeper for every two rolls searched.

Still fighting with if I should post errors that I find CRH'ing in the error section or here since I found them CRH'ing. I will post the minor ones here and give the better one's their own post in the Error section. Very minor Obverse IDB on a 1983 Lincoln Cent. IMG_6425.JPG

No silver. Haven't scoped any of the possible error years I set aside.

Good Evening Everyone, It turned out to be a good day, When I picked up my boxes they told me they didn't order, There is a new teller making my orders. She stated there might be a couple boxes in the vault and asked me if I wanted them? Of course I said yes, low and behold. My first 4 boxes for this week yielded me 17 pieces of silver, 6-90%ers, and 11-40%ers. 1-43S Walker, 1-62D and 1-63 Bennie, 3-64's also pulled 1-66, 4-67, 4-68 and 2-69. All that came out of 2 boxes.

My new box is all CWR. So far most of the copper is ugly.
Those unmarked Fed rolls are my favorite.

A few days ago I picked up a Brink’s box of halves for our local coin club meeting activity last night. I handed out a paper with examples of the 1974-D DDO, 1972-D “No FG”, & 1982-P “No FG” to help them in their search. I also mentioned NIFCs (including 1987-P&D, Proofs & 2002+). I also mentioned the remote possibility of finding silver. 12 members grabbed 3-5 rolls each and found the following:
    (1) 69-D
    (1) 74-D DDO
    (8) 2002+ NIFCs
It was a fun activity with lots of discussion and second opinions on the DDO, lol.

I brought the rejects back home, and this morning decided to double check them before hauling them to the dump bank. Glad I did! I found these as well:
    (2) 66
    (2) 87-P
    (1) 88-P AU
